Alternative to rechrome?

Home depot also has a self etching primer. I would imagine that would do it? Just use black. Chrome from my experience goes to quickly, shows more dirt, and after about 6-10 months looks worse than black.

I'd defiently would prefer to have it black. Easiest way is my preferred option. I'm gonna head to Home Depot this weekend, thanks for the help guys! I'll post a picture when it's done!

If you decide to keep it chrome, try some metal polish and super fine steel wool (0000). It works quite well depending on how bad the chrome has gotten. I detail cars for my main income and it's my go-to on chrome.

I sanded and primed with self etching spray paint then painted mine with black appliance paint. They have held up quite well.

I've wondered about the appliance epoxy paint.
