Where to put boxes for recycling?

Recommended Posts

If you have a commercial rental space and some room, call a local commercial recycler and see if they will place a small dumpster in your warehouse.  We did that for years and just manually loaded it and jumped on it to compact it. We then got paid for the value of the cardboard when they replaced the dumpster.  A way to make a little money and help the environment.

Most grocery stores have compactors. We actually own our compactor and sell the bales to a recycler. We generate almost a ton of cardboard every day.

Is there any money in the recycled cardboard? worth the price of the compactor?

As for getting rid of them, I have a really large burn barrel....

It depends on where you are and the volume you generate.  For my operation I pay $20/ month for a recycler to come by once a week and pick up my cardboard.  If I had more I might be able to get a recycling dumpster and get paid a little for it.  You need a lot of cardboard (and a lot of space) for a compactor/bailer; your volume probably determines if you have to buy/rent or if someone will provide one for you.... if your landfill is blocking commercial then there must be other services somewhere in your area...
