The irony isn't that strong since I only have three locations.... I'll probably contact kickstart to get another 1 or 2 locations.... gotta get signed up with NCCS also, since not having a charity has made locating much harder. I counted out $44.75 today for a record for me for a month (triple) My other record is 40 bucks for 2 days at an event with a single. My worst is like 3 bucks. I picked up twice there during the month. I guess a double head NW 60 can hold approximately $150 total for both coin trays. It may hold more but it gets very sloppy as coins spill all over the place when you try and slide the coin tray out. Such problems right? This reminds me I just need to get far more locations so I can land in a good one. I had not actually had a break room of more than 10 people, or a high customer traffic area. Often 20% of your accounts will do 80% of the business. I know from running ATM and acracde machines sometimes those big accounts can do ten times more than some of the small accounts. It may even make you question why you bother with all these little ones but they do all ad up. I must have 10 of those types of locations for each spot that does gravy-type numbers, and my best spot is one of 170. When I started I would be hitting 22-23 charity stops on my first route and be lucky to collect $150 gross per month on an approx. 80 mile round trip, sometimes I would get $200 during the summer and get soooo excited! I knew I was at best breaking even but I knew I wanted to do this so I kept at it. You can't let a bad collection, lost location, or no gravy locations get you down, especially when you are starting. I didn't have any gravy locations for over a year in business, and it took me almost two to actually place a machine and upgrade myself to a gravy location, turns out I have done it twice. My partner did most of the newer locating and I purchased many of my current locations as well. Nam, you are also correct that a smaller percentage of locations always do a majority of the business, especially broken down on a route by route basis. That is why churning out your non-performers is important, so you keep trying to find the gravy and top-tier locations, or sometimes if you just take 10 of your dogs and find them 10 new spots doing just 10% better, you would double your sales on those 10, that would add up very fast. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm planning to get a place that does custom shirts, trying to network my way in. Currently it has three NW60s in there on a triple stand. That gives me a feeling it may be a fairly good location. golpher Posted February 18, 2009 Share Posted February 18, 2009 Nepavend, What are your normal cycle time frames and what are your standards for each differnt cycle? I am just getting started and I have decided to do a 4 week cycle for locations that can produce $20.00 or more in that time frame. If they produce less than $20.00 in a 4 week period I will put them on a 6 week cycle. I only have 6 locations but as I acquire more I was planning on an 8 week cycle for even slower locations. Say less than $10.00 after 6 weks. Eventually the locations on the 8 week cycle will be re-located to better spots. Once all my machines have a home. Does this seem about right?
