davidsurvz
I stumbled across these while surfing around. I just wonder if anyone has any experience with these machines. This seems like a reasonable price for a combo machine. I might hit up a location near my house for a full line spot and also for one of my bulk machines. I don't have any full line locations right now, just bulk but I am thinking of maybe trying to line up 1 or 2 locations (full line) what do you guys think of this machine? I would probably want to buy a new machine because the location is a brand new / nice facility. http://www.evending.com/futura.html Thnaks, David
whaletail116
It looks pretty high-quality. The site says $2,495 and of course many soda and snack machines sell on eBay and Craigslist for less than $500. Are the profits going to be worth the extra $2,000 in costs?
Technivend
You cannot judge quality by a picture. Based on what I can see about these units is that they are made by a major vending machine manufacturer being sold by evending.com and not their normal distribution channels. They would be made in the US by very high manufacturing standards but I would guess they were a contract deal so the design is the questionable part. As a consumer though, I always shy away from those companies that do not list a physical address.

gcampbel
Does anyone have a Futura vending machine? If so, are they reliable? The Guaranteed Vend Sensor (http://www.evending.com/Guaranteed-Vend-Sensors) looks like a good feature to have on a machine.

I've seen this machine listed locally on craigslist for $800 used. The bigger problem here is that Combo only accounts are rarely profitable as the machines have limited capacity. You would need to service an account twice a week to make a reasonable profit with a machine like this, assuming the account was using the machine to that extent. Full line vendors only use combo machines in a satellite capacity for larger accounts where several machines are serviced in one cycle. This topic has been discussed many times on the Full Line forum and the feeling about combo machines is fairly unanimous. If you absolutely must buy a new combo machine (assuming we can't talk you out of it) take a look at the AMS line.

Hopefully somebody set David straight on this or maybe that was his machine I saw on CL.

The Guaranteed Vend Sensor (http://www.evending.com/Guaranteed-Vend-Sensors) looks like a good feature to have on a machine. To answer my own question. I purchased a Futura combo vending machine in April 2014. It's a very reliable machine. It's very easy to load and there are no spacers to contend with when loading beverages. It has two beverage sections, one for 12 ounce cans, and another for containers of any shape (including square boxes) as long as it will fit in the coil. Paper bills are neatly stacked inside a bill box. It's a heavy duty, quiet operating, well made vending machine.

I tink that sometimes us long time vendors kind of put ourselves into a box and don't look beyond the tried and true........sometimes for good reason(think Antares). Can you post of some detailed picks of the guts of the soda part? I'd be interested to see how they handle vending odd shapes.

Popular Post orsd
Mission, I think it has coils like a snack Also, 2 months is like nothing for vending machines Try 10 years and report back
jerry1973
he sounds to me like someone who might have an interest in selling or at least make these machines look good, that's why I asked how much he sold them for. And yeah if a machine is impressive by working good for 2 months, then vending is for sure not going to be profitable at all, because equipment is way to expensive to be disposable. QualitySelectionsJ
Thing I see is limited capacity on combo machines. Small work area to maneuver in, limited cash, unless it's a 8' wide machine.? I still run Genesis compost machines. Mission, I think it has coils like a snack Also, 2 months is like nothing for vending machines Try 10 years and report back 7 yrs on my combos and they're still functioning on safety pins. Report is -1%, or F for reliability, effectiveness, etc.

Golfdogs
I've had two of these machines in service since 2010. I'm getting frustrated by all the 'little' issues they are having. Screws and nuts are constantly showing up on the bottom of the machine. The validators (Matrix brand) both have had to be replaced. Guaranteed vend on the drink compartment on one of them failed today. It's a broken spring. Can't wait to call service to try and figure this one out...
