dpvnc
Hi All: I picked up a Toy N Joy machine for 20 bucks it is a five way machine I have a location that is a Laundromat. It has 2, 50 cent and 3, 25 cent sections in the cabinet. Looking for opinions here. Here is what I have to stock it with Silly Bands, Goop, Disney mix stickers, yo yo balls, spirit bands , tomato balls, some silver jewlery 1 inch, 27mm balls, 1in mystery mix? 1 inch gumballs? what would you put in out of these items? I would like to see ROI really quickly it was such a large investment in themachine
will.vend
Here is what I have to stock it with Silly Bands, Goop, Disney mix stickers, yo yo balls, spirit bands , tomato balls, some silver jewlery 1 inch, 27mm balls, 1in mystery mix? 1 inch gumballs? what would you put in out of these items? first of all nice score! a rack for $20.00 wow! all your items sound ok, Im assuming you want to use what you already have in stock, out of those items I would not use the goop only because the kids will get it all over the laundromat. The gumballs will do good there Im sure, they usually do well in laundomats. On your next order I would get 2 in sticky mix the kids love it. So I would go with silly bands and yo yo balls for 2 inch and 27mm bb, mystery mix and gumballs on the 1 inch. You can rotate it around until you get the right combo. good luck! dpvnc
Thanks Will.Vend. Has anyone ever tried mini bags of candy (like given out holloween) in a 2"cap?
Quarter Master
I would definately go with a mix of the products you have on hand and if you don't have any candy, I'd think long and hard on those products. You get into freshness problems and product sticking together. The only "food" item I would recommend is gumballs.

bigboivendor
i remember being younger and my mom would take me to the laundromat and i would always beg for a bouncyball lol. till this day im still a sucker for one
dpvnc
Big Boi: If you have kids you cannot get past vending machines without them begging for a toy. Hence my AH ha Moment! As I have been getting this machine ready to place I really like how it is put together. Granted it looks a little dated I found dates of 1988 as date of MFG. Coin Mechs can be changed to 50cent vend by moving a screw. the coin trays have a metal sheild that can be locked with a paddle lock as well as cabinet locks. Line up is spirit bands , disney mix stickers, 32 mm balls, gumballs and guess what. Machine going out saturday morning.
dpvnc
Well the Toy N Joy is on location. Had a bit of Change up Gum had to be taken off the List. Here is what is in it. silly bands, disney mix stickers, bouncy balls 32 mm, 1" guess what section and I chose Super Sours to replace gum. So in two weeks I will post results of The Toy and joy. Also I have to set a drink machine and a snack machine It was a package deal.
DESERT3
They are beautiful machines our company took great pride in their design, but some customers started complaining because you could not see all the way around, go figure. Well, its been a great run and the end of this month is it for this great company. I have had the pleasure of being employed here for the past 18+ years, I sure will miss it. You guys really need to take care of and work with the remaining suppliers as they are the ones who keep you in business.
dpvnc
I put the Toy and Joy on location 3 nights ago about 8 pm. I went to check on it to make sure it was functioning well. Pulled $10.50 gross out of it inThree days. Needless to say I am happy at this rate it will pay for itself in a couple weeks. Looks like silly bands best mover. Followed by super sours. dpvnc
I had to place a drink machine in the Laundromat where the Toy and Joy machine is at. So we emptied the Toy N Joy another 10 dollars. So that is 20.50 in a week gross out of a $20.00 investment for the machine.

dpvnc
Scot: I picked up two Toy n Joy more this evening. Not the same deal but 25.00 each. Also picked up a big choice skill crane.
dpvnc
Yesterday 8-10 I went to check the drink machine, so I serviced the Toy n Joy. The Super sours are going well and silly bands are the hot item, so there was 7.00 in the machine. I went back tonight to change pricing on the drink machine the Toy n Joy had another 6.25 worth of quarters must have been a silly band junky in the laundromat. So IMHO if you can pick up a old Toy n Joy cheap to use as starter machines it would be worth it. Not every place would want them but I think the old( big reds) are a deal at less than $100.00. You can hardly beat ROI. OH I had a 5 head rack I placed the same day at a new ice cream parlor as the Toy N Joy only had 14.00 when I checked it on 8-10. dpvnc
I placed Toy N Joy number 2 at another one of my locations that is a Laundromat did a pull three days in 5.00 that is what the ball and toy dollar vend has been doing in two weeks at that location. it is not a huge traffic location

dpvnc
DPerry: The bottom panel opens up with one key in center. The top is hinged and opens with same key. product is poured in from the top. The bottom are 2" caps and top three are 1". The are a couple latches under the top lid that allow you to remove center panel which allows you to access lower compartments to change product labels or change product. Money falls from the top to the bottom via chutes. The money falls into carboard trays for tracking best cellars. Also paddle locks can be installed on an internal door for more security. musser
They really aren't worth anything from an operating point of view. Not to be negative, but truthful, Toy N Joys were crappy forty years ago when they were new.
mjacks
I did have a few of the toy n joys when I bought my route and after working with them for a couple years I thoroughly enjoyed breaking them apart for the dumpster. Hillbilly
I picked up some old Toy N Joy 1" machines last summer while running a route. I saw them setting next to a fence and stopped and talked to the guy. Said his wife wanted $150 for all 6 and a 2" Victor setting an a rack. The 1" machines were .25 and the Victor was .50. I picked them all up for $50. They will make good GB machines.
