  1. Thanks, Steve, for starting and maintaining TVF for all those years. Best wishes to you and your family.
  2. Anyone see the new "Manning Brothers Rap"? promoting the new football fantasy channel on Direct TV? Kinda strange video! And why the heck is Joe Namath in this? http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/peyton-and-eli-manning-flow-like-showers-of-tiny-footballs-in-new-directv-rap-135354845.html
  3. Well not always true. I have been kicked out of Outbacks and K-Marts. If I remember, another vendor posted a problem with an Old Navy. It really comes down to enforcement (or lack of) by either the higher-up's or the snack/soda vendors. In many cases they look the other way since they have "bigger fish to fry" and don't get worked up over a gumball machine in a breakroom. But sometimes some managers or competing commission vendors will take notice and take action. Charity vending is an "under-the-radar" type of business. Just lay low and most of the time no one cares you are in their break room. But sometimes one individual will care! Then, POW, you are gone! But yes, there are some corporate place that are a bit more friendly. The Gap and Banana Republic are a few more. Well they probably think you are one of those slammers. And they may also think that you are a cheater who only gives one dollar per month to the charity when the locator said it was all for charity. I can only imagine the e-mails that float around at corporate. They probably end with "trash those pieces of st". Perception is a powerful thing.
  4. No not really! In the vast majority of those places, the only product that sold well were Peanut M&M - which are no longer worth vending, And those places also have a higher tendency for machine tampering, such as lock picking. Automotive boys will be automotive boys.
  5. Maybe the "slammers" are the blame for this over reaction problem? A Jiffy Lube may seem like an ideal place to slam a machine (without permission) to some locators or vendors. So my guess would be that the Jiffy Lube corporate people adopted a zero-tolerance take-no-prisoners policy on any type of bulk machine. Automotive repair chains are constantly targeted by bulk vendors and I am sure they get sick of dealing with the never ending requests to place machines on their property. So into the dumpster it goes! As Ron once pointed out, maybe the vendor has unknowingly been "Gorilla" located on by a low-life locator. Either the locator slammed it in themselves or they exploited a naive newbie employee at the front desk that did not know the corporate vending policy, but was sympathetic to the charity cause. After all, this is all for a charity, right? Of course the low-life locator knows that this machine will not stay in for long. And when that high level corporate or district manager arrives, that machine is toast. But the locator has your cash as is long gone!
  6. That's right! Nothing happened. But nothing is really something (since we are talking about it). So for the next question... Is reality real?
  7. Yea $60 is on the high side. And "Brady in his prime" - Is that in past tense??!! Some may not like that!!
  8. Seems like the A-Grade locators are dwindling for sure. Not many Manning or Brady type locators left standing. Just a bunch of Blaine Gabbert, Michael Vick and Mark Sanchez type locators. Heck at this point, I would even take a Joe Flacco type locator! (Sorry, I just like football analogies)! But here is another one for "the mix" that I have been wondering about for a while. There is a locator in Texas that has not had a lot of press here. I have never used her services and have no first (or even second) hand info on them. But I see she runs listings on eBay every now and then. Not sure why there has been little chatter about them. Either nobody wants to pay their price or they are so good that no vendor wants his competitor to know! Here are some links. One nice thing about buying thought eBay, is that you can leave a negative feedback if the service is bad. They have many positive feedback's, albeit some a few years old. Any one out there with some first hand info to share on them? http://www.ebay.com/sch/djm8001/m.html?item=170969463174&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27ce92f986&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 http://www.vendinglocatorsnetwork.com/,

Hard to tell about those Falcons. History is not on their side. But "One and Done" is never fun.

  15. Well if the world is going to end soon, it should at least wait until after the Super Bowl!!
