  1. Hey, I really do wish you success in your new endeavor (really). I just found it odd that you were pointing out these "5 points" as something unique and or special. I wasn't trying to slam you and I DO hope you have the last laugh:) I'm willing to give you a shot if you can answer one question. If I feel a location will NOT be a good fit, can I reject it without being charged? Thanks in advance, g
  2. I do wish you luck in your new endeavor. With that being said, it's hard enough to find honest locators and you have already shown some "signs" of dishonesty. Your "5 point metric" system is the same info that every other locator get's (depending on where they buy there "lead" info, salesgenie, etc), yet you act like you have some sort of "unique" info (the mention of "credit rating" was pretty funny). Again, while my comments may seem negative (hey, I'm jaded), I'm hoping you can see where I (and other's) are coming from. Good luck. g
  3. I know there are quite a few people here who run these machines (myself included), but after several months running them, I have to voice my (unhappy) opinion. Quite frankly, I think these machines stink! The stands are horrible, the machines misvend like CRAZY and they are a golpher to fix (especially on location). About two weeks ago, I had one handle on the coin mech completely snap off!! The product is terrific and I don't think anyone can deny that but the machines.......that's another story. Sure, they LOOK great...when they are functioning properly. I really wish there was a better alternative (and I don't feel like capping as this will take up more time and increase cogs). Steve- Anything new and/or improved in the pipeline?? g
  4. I already do that next to one of my racks:) I stole the idea from a Skating rink that my kid went to for a birthday party. Simple, but effective. Anything to perserve/enhance margins is a good thing imo. g
  5. I have a couple of hundret helmets and want to get a display card and some more.
  6. I'm looking for MLB Helmet's in 2" caps. I know A&A don't sell them. Thanks, g
  7. Well, not to be a jerk either! But I want to emphasize another point... Nam hit on this point as well and that is why I copied it. The biggest problem that I have with your deal is that your machines can only vend candy! Candy is usually the worst selling and lowest volume moving product in bulk vending! And it also gets stale, the heat/sun will melt it and it also attracts insects. Plus candy cost keep going up and the margin keep going down. Plus the best selling product (MM Peanuts) has almost a 40 to 50% product cost. Case in point - I have a diner that does about $300 per month - $270 in toys and $30 in candy! I only keep the candy as a courtesy for the GM who just wants some candy. There is waaay to much emphasis on candy on this forum! I know of no other successful full time bulk vendors on any other board doing exclusively candy. Toys, balls, stickers, tattoos is "where the action is"! Let's also not forget gumballs with their incredible margin and interactive machines (like hoops and pinball) to double or triple sales. Unfortunately, those Vendstars can't vend round or acorn shaped products without a costly upgrade. Yea, I do have some Uturns. But many of them have 2,3 or even 4 toy selections. IMHO, those biz-ops do a double whammy on their victims (err customers). First they sell cheap junk at inflated prices. And second, they push people down the candy path - even skipping the super profitable gumballs! Heck, some guys even make a fortune selling just gumballs. But I never hear stories of guys making a fortune selling just candy. Now candy is just fine if you want a part time income or simply need some extra beer money. But the real money is in the non-food products! I hope your deal works out, but I just don't see a win-win situation with 100% candy. Just being honest and of course, good luck. Jax Hey guys. Haven't been here in quite a while, hope everybody's well. While I primarily do candy, I have to give a POTD to Jax for this. As a newbie, I am starting to transition out of candy because to build a long lasting vending biz, it only makes sense to me. Imo, I only see the margins on candy getting worse. I will continue to do Gumballs and DI (as much as I hate the machines) because I'm able to keep the cpv down, the product is great and the gum will last MUCH longer then most candies.g
  8. Brilliant....bloody brilliant!! g
  9. guile,What machine are you using to vend DI? Are you using their machine or some other? How many tabs do you vend? I'm using dedicated DI machines at the moment. The product price is at about 30% cogs so it will ALWAYS be 2 pieces. g
  10. While I would agree about most of the other candies mentioned above, I have to disagree about DI. Since I have several DI machines, my opinion would be considered biased, but I'll tell you why I have those machines in the first place. While Dentyne Ice might fall into the "niche product" category, I do think it has a MUCH stronger market share (as well as stronger viability) compared to the other products mentioned above. I think DI is a fabulous product but as you point out, the cog's price is high. With a cog's price at 30%, anybody vending candy is paying the same. I have DI in ONLY charity commission spots and these locations wouldn't support anything else. I have some machines that bang out $40 a month and a majority that are now producing $25 minimum. For a single head, that is VERY impressive. I think DI has it's place in my vending arsenal and will continue to sell it for a long time to come. I had thought about trying a couple of similar products from Ford, and maybe capsuling up 2 tabs for .25. That would bring cost of vend down tremendously but...are people willing to pay a quarter for 2 tabs of gum they never heard of? Time will tell.... g
  11. I would like to know that too.
  12. We are both fairly new to vending:) With that being said, I would say if the product is fresh, why wouldn't you swap it out. There's no reason to throw away good product. I usually give it the ol "taste test" and if it's stale, I chuck it. g
