  1. We've had 2 motels in the past. One was in a hallway. Both machines were torn apart twice. I just moved out. The other motel was run by a scammer. I moved out of that one too. I didn't have any vandalism there because he had cameras EVERYWHERE!!
  2. Payrange is doing good for me. One place I had it, it was never used, so I moved it to a new location and it took off.
  3. Good Day, I have an older USI 3129-L (old Lance snack machine) that had an old MAKA validator in it. I've taken the MAKA out and put a refurbished MEI VN2512 U5 in, but it will not work. It flashes 2 flashes indicating "disabled from mech/VMC". I've unplugged and replugged numerous plugs, tried a different coin mech (both coin mechs work fine in this machine), gone into service mode and back out, and it still does the same thing. I've tried different switch combinations on the validator also. The coin mech is a 15 pin Coinco 9302LF. It takes money and gives change like it should. The old MAKA was still working, but occasionally would not take a bill. This is the 3rd one of these I've done and I had no issues with the other two. Both of them were also 3129-L machines that I put MEI VN2512's into. Any idea what might be the issue??
  4. What part of central FL? I'm in north Florida.
  5. I do the easy mac cups and the ramen noodle cups. They do very good in some places and good enough in others.
  6. I have several school accounts. One does over $200.00 a week. It would do more if I had the time to service it twice a week. Another one does about $125.00 a week. The rest of them are a little below average for me. It depends on the school and who has access to the machines. That biggest one is a PreK / Kindergarten school. The middle and high schools get out earlier than the PreK/K school and most of the teachers there have children in other schools that come there after their schools get out. They use the PreK/K machines when they get there and hang out waiting on their parents school to get out. The schools have signs on the machines telling students they cannot use the machines during school hours. Before and after school is when most of my machines do business.
  7. NOTHING!!! I got one quickly a few years ago because I "needed one now". Bad idea. Bad idea!! I got rid of it at a loss, but I got rid of it. I will NEVER buy, barter for, or accept as a gift another Genesis machine.
  8. In my experience, nothing sells fast in a cold food machine. I finally did away with doing cold food. No profit at all.
  9. I still have a few MAKAs left. I'm phasing them out one at a time. They worked good ... when they worked.
  10. I have mostly USI snack and drink machines. I seldom have issues with them, but when I do they are usually easy to repair. Ordering parts for them from VendnetUSA.com is a little expensive and shipping if very high. However, I also have a good selection of used parts on hand in my tiny warehouse so that helps.
  11. Average daily sales (total) is $8-12, average cashless is 31% of the total. The higher end the hotel, the lower the cashless percentage. Why is the cashless lower at the higher end hotels???
  12. When I started out we bought all USI machines. They are quite easy to operate and fix. They don't break that often, but are easy to work on when they do.
  13. I made a donation a while back and he sent the parts I needed to me. They worked great.
  14. Here's a good book to read. How to start your own vending business. https://www.thriftbooks.com/w/start-your-own-vending-business_anne-rawland-gabriel/538323/?utm_term=1101002859890&utm_campaign=Bing+Shopping+|+Business+&+Investing&utm_medium=cpc&msclkid=b64eb7c269ee172f0617eb465adcc010&utm_source=bing#isbn=1891984853&idiq=30176038
  15. Good Day, I have yet another problem! I have an OLD DNCB180cc with a Maka NB15A 200 117v validator that is now starting to not pull bills in most of the time. Sometimes it will, mostly it won't. What can I replace it with?
  16. Has anyone added c-stores to their vending businesses? No one around my area sells Snak King products in the C-stores. I was thinking, since we already have them on our truck, why not stop at the C-stores on our route and sell to them also? But, how do I go about doing that? I have racks and chips. Do they buy the product from me outright? Is it put in the store on consignment? Do I bill them? How do the Lays, Wise, Coke, and Pepsi distributors do it?? Thanks and have a great day!!
  17. I am a full line vendor. I used Vend-Trak all of 2008. I didn't renew it for 2009 because I thought I would just go back to using my own spreadsheets. ... I should have kept Vend-Trak. I'm going to go back to it for 2010. It's easy to use and keeps track of everything. I've found that I have a hard time keeping up with inventory control without it. It wasn't too bad at first, but I've added a couple of large accounts since then. I'll need Vend-Trak again. I didn't renew it because I'm cheap. However, I think it's worth the small yearly price.
  18. At our busier locations that insist on a commission (and all the schools), we give them 10% of the revenue on snacks and 15% on drinks. This works out good for us. At smaller locations we tell them that we just cannot afford to pay them a commission. We do tell them that if they surprise us and do a high volume that we'll pay them the standard 10% or 15%. Although some of the schools do a lower volume and normally would not qualify for a commission, we have some larger accounts that don't care about commission. We keep that money which more than offsets the commission on the lower volume school machines. The reason we agreed to pay commission on all the school machines is because they are schools and need the money. It's good PR for our company also. We support our schools. We also occassionally give boxes of snacks or sodas for special events. Hope this info helps. Have a great day.
  19. I have a question for you all: I have a few locations that are smaller locations that really don't make us money. They are all at locations of people whom I have befriended before we even had vending machines. I need to pull these machines (some snack and some drink) and put them in profitable locations. What can I do at these smaller locations to continue to serve them? A couple of them would be good candidates for honor boxes because of the people who work there, but they don't want the responsibility of an honor box (even though I told them they would NOT be responsible for any loss on our part). Because they are good people and friends they would still feel a responsibility for any losses. I don't want to cause any awkwardness between us. So I'd rather not put honor boxes at these locations because of that. Some of the other locations have some public traffic so honor boxes just would not work there. Is there another way of still serving these smaller locations that don't move much merchandise without the expense of a vending machine?? I'll entertain just about any ideas at all. Thank you all, and have a blessed day,
