  1. I have recently acquired a vending account that would also like me to take over there current coffee agreement. Basically it's a k-cup vending machine with a commercial grade Kurig they current vendor supplies. They are paying $180 per month to the company and the company provides sugar, cups bi weekly I suppose or when they run out and creamer. The employees still pay $1 per k-cup also. Is this a good approach to coffee vending? It seems like a easy win if I can save them $20 dollars per month they said they would be happy they just don't like the current vendor. I saw something called a Bunn machine which is simillar to Kurig I suppose ..and have found some K-cup dispensing machines . What a your recommendations? See attached current equipment on site.
  2. One last question whta type of security features should I add to the machines to deter vandalism every little bit helps
  3. Hello all ! Have a couple of questions I have a meeting with a 2 property hotel next week that has been serviced horribly by Coke who does not maintain the drink machines and two men and a idiot run the snack machines. The owners of the property do not receive commission at all and have realized that their current situations does not meet the needs of their guest. I fortunately got the ear of one of the owners and he is ready to give me a shot at taking over the location pending our meeting. Question 1 What is a good co mission to offer him? Question 2 He wants toiletries in the machine toothbrushes etc.. what are good prices to charge on these items and a list of good items. This hotel does not provide anything but towels. Queston 3 Any general tips to help me close the deal will be appreciated... Thanks all.. Imperial Vending
  4. Going back to the previous thought I dont thing if I were hungry today and I new something would be marked down in three days I would starve until its cheaper. The beauty of vending is that product is available when you want it its not like waiting for a shirt to go on clearence. Also if you were to put in a break even slot in your machine it would only house items you tried and did not sell ,not good movers so you would never run the risk of a discounted product and the same product in the machine at full price would you?
  5. Is it a good idea to have a spot in your machine lets say for .35 cent for merchandise that will go out of date that week. It would always be random merchandise in that slot but at least you would get your investment back.
  6. I know there have been many threads o this topic but I wanted to know the best way to approach. I found a vending route for sale on craigs list for 8500 dollars. It included 3 machines and seller says route is making 50 dollars a week, I am thinking that is per machine. How do you determine if this is overpriced or what are the basics to look for before buying a route. Thanks
  7. In Birmingham Coke has an entire vending line called Classic Vending they make it very difficult to get in with them. Fortunately they have been willing to work with me.
  8. Do any of you who have 3rd party individuals loan you machines have contracts with them. What would stop coke from coming in and saying they are going to take their machines out of the location. I know I will still have a contract with the hotel to keep the account. How have you guys handled this.
  9. Great news Coke just called me today and they are going to loan me the machines they said it would take about 3 weeks to get them installed and of course all product has to come from them. I am going to meet with the hotel on Monday to hopefully close the deal. This is great!!!
  10. I agree with both of you but right now I am not able to buy all those machines so it is a crap shoot anyway. If they dont get me the machines then I am looking at spending about $5500 dollars to get machines to place in the hotel. I will know more on tomorrow hopefully they will do right but I realize the risk going into it. I told him the wrong location anyway just to see what he comes back with.
  11. I just spoke to coke today and asked about them loaning me some machines for this hotel account the guy took down the information as to what my needs were and said he actually had a meeting with his district manager on Wednesday and would get back to me then to let me know their decision. I think they are going to snd their salesman out to try and get the account themselves. The hotel does not open for another month
  12. Thanks for the advice I am going to try and lean on coke some to try and get loaned equipment hopefully it will go well. I figure it would be a good account but just wanted some inside info. Thank you for telling me ahead about the commission you were right I would have fainted.
  13. Does anyone have machines in hotels I am currently trying to get into a Hilton Garden and they are going to want 5 machines, I dont know if starting out I want to dump that type of money into buying that many machines to put in one place if it want end up being very profitable. I know my profit mrgin will be higher since I can charge 2 bucks for a 20 oz coke but how many vends will I truly get? I think long term it may be worth it any thoughts.
  14. I had a meeting with coke to get them to loan me some machines they said they were not doing much of that anymore and would evaluate what I buy from them over the next 6 months to determine if they would loan 1. They were not clear on how much they wanted to see per month.
  15. Do any of you have people help you run your routes. I only have about 4 machines right now but many deals pending And am thinking about future growth.
  16. I beleive that really depends on the account, I have mostly sngle price machines but in my larger accounts I go multi just for the selection.
  17. I bought my first machine from A distributor and paid about 1500 dollars for it. It is a coke machine that was multi price and had a 90 day warranty very good machine Just realize the more you spend on the machine the longer it will take for you to make money. Since then I have not spent over 400 dollars for a machine. I think your first machine is more about piece of mind knowing you have some sort of warranty to back you if you have problems. I didnt know how to repair anything when I first got started but now I can do some basic things this board has been great.
  18. I just check the local grocery stores for sales on 12 packs. I stock up when I find them 5/ 12 dollars thats about .22 cents per can. Also try Walgreens and CVS they usually switch between the two stores on who has the cheapest price each week.
  19. Nam, Where did you find this twisted quarter device I havent found it on ebay anywhere.
  20. Hey this is a cool truck are there any other used vehicles you would recommend to start out I am in the market right now and cant afford to spend that much? Thanks
  21. Thanks I will look it up today to see if I can find one.
  22. I have a Vendo machine that has recently stopped accepting quarters all other coins work fine but the quarters fall straight through. Has anyone else experienced this or know how to troubleshoot.
  23. I actually asked a Pepsi driver about their machines thats how I found out about it, I have been working with this driver exclusively. I'm pretty sure he is tacking on some money for himself but it is worth it because he will deliver the machine anywhere I want and even repair if I had a problem. Yes the price included delivery. The machine I have at my complex is multi price I run cans for .75 cents and I have powerade in one slot for 1.25. Its located outdoors. I really think complexes are only good for the summer and only if you can put a cheap machine by the pool, my machine will be paid off by the end of the summer plus Im sure I will make a little extra. I have already got the greenlight from two other complexes to place a machine by there pool. These 250 dollar machines are perfect and they are short machines that are easy to move around. I started asking friends of mine who lived in complexes if they had vending machines those that lived in large unit complexes I called the property manager and asked if they would be intrested in installing a machine in their workout room or poolside. I really feel after the summer its going to be extremely slow so having a smaller inexpensive machine is key.Make your money and see you next summer at least thats my plan.
  24. This is my first time entering a post on this st I just started my vending company about a month ago and place my first machine a week later. I paid about $1200 for the machine and actually placed it by the pool at my apartment complex. It is doing about 80 dollars a week so far but I know it will slack off tremendously when fall kicks in. I have gotten some great info from this site thus far. I just wanted to post that I recently found out that Pepsi writes off their machines after they own them so long then refurb them and sale them. I just bought 3 six selection machines from them for 200 dollars each. They even swithched out the graphics and delivered them at no charge for me. Has anyone else heard about this.
