  1. Here is a link to a go fund me for Rodney's family, be sure to click on the 'read more' under the photo for more info on what happened.... https://www.gofundme.com/f/rodney-sandra-angerbauer-a-love-like-no-other?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link_all&utm_source=customer
  2. Yea, I think just sitting back and leaving the game playing to UW and the Pack is working out ok for you guys....seems Gordon and Rogers had a good weekend.
  3. If someone from Ford gum wanted to prank the forum, they might use a screen name like MasonEmpireInc (Ford Gum founded 100 years ago by Ford S Mason).
  4. It used to be 10 stands for a discount. The number I used is (909) 447-7866. Its probably been at least 6 months since my last batch of stands, and now the website photos do not show the wood panels, just the metal cross bar on the bottom...so if you like the wood, don't forget to ask. www.eagleemc.com
  5. "How do you make money?" ----------------------------------- Buy low and sell higher....
  6. OK, thanks...see you on Tuesday. Ebay huh?? There will be real deals to be had, me thinks...
  7. Looks good, ready to go if it is going to be on carpet. But if it will be located on a tile floor, it would be nice if you can put some adjustable (screw in) feet on it. This will both help to keep it stable and extend it's life by helping to prevent water damage when the floor is mopped. That pressed wood soaks up water like a sponge sometimes. Jerry
  8. We will see you early next week, probably Tue or Wed. Will call first to make sure orders are up. Or is Tue your last day there??? With the 50K empty caps plus the rest we may need two trips anyway. I really like those 1.3" empty caps we picked up last week, best quality Chinese caps I've ever seen. Let me know if you want us to come on Mon...but I figure you still must be backed up a little. No more ToynJoy, sigh Jerry and Carol Cadena Vending
  9. I believe there are plastic inserts available from Oak that fit into the product wheel compartments to reduce the size. I have seen them on some machines...it would be worth the phone call to Olivia to ask if they have some that would work for the ping pong balls. 800-247-4932 Jerry
  10. Subject: A Guy Fairy Tale Once upon a time, a Prince asked a beautiful Princess... “Will you marry me?” The Princess said “NO!” And the Prince lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and went fishing and hunting and played golf and dated women half his age and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up. The End
  11. The product below is to Mexico what Peanut M&M's are to the USA: http://www.alegrofoods.com/mazapan.aspx I don't do full line, so don't know if they come packed for vending machines. But each individual piece is wrapped pretty good...I also don't know if each piece has the required nutrition label. De La Rosa is the preferred brand. I do know they are found next to the cash register in every Mexican restaurant, small grocery store and 'carniceria' around here and in So Cal. It would be worth it to try and just find a store around you (I have no idea where that is) that sells them and see if you can test it out. Buena suerte, Jerry

  13. Yep, only thing I can think of to add is to have a photo of the rack to show him...maybe with some live product displays (one of the NFL mixes for example). You said the location is tiny, so if he worries about room you can always start out with a 3 way rack, which is really only an inch or two wider than the base of a pipe stand...in other words, tell him it will fit where your charity head is now. He probably does not want the guilt and/or bother to kick out the other charity units, so you might also say that you have another spot to put your charity head in...so he won't think he is hurting your charity either. I would then clean and refill the rack every week (if practical, say only 5 or 10 minute extra drive), but wait to pay the first commission until probably week five so that when you do the first payment will be significant...and of course make sure he is there to receive it. The first few times you come back, you should go up to him first and just tell him you are there to clean and restock...that you usually count only once a month. When he gets a good amount of commission, he may be more willing to let you expand. Good luck, Jerry
  14. Here is a guy who specializes in service station soda vending: http://vendiscuss.com/forum/index.php?topic=6341.0 Jerry
  15. The only tricky part I have found is in making sure the two cross bars are level with each other. I have never had a stand with miss-aligned holes. These guys are in socal so if you are close you can go look and check it out in person. Sherlock, I don't know what the current prices are, we used to get the '8 way' for $68, I think (with casters). Oh and that was with a 10% quantity discount...but with the new owners I don't know what the prices are now. I talked to them today but forgot to ask about prices, oops...But I called them up just to make sure the specs on the stand had not changed. The company that owns Eagle now is the company that used to do the powder coating for Superior (Eagle vending operating company). Eagle got big about 13 years ago when Sam's club had their machines on the shelves. But it made most of the bulk operators (charity especially) mad as the restaurant owners bought the machines to put out themselves. When we started here most of the independent restaurants already had candy/gum machines of their own so we went in and told them we would sell toys and leave the 'food' items to them. Good luck, Jerry
  16. You should consider these, they are the original that LYPC copied: http://www.superiorwholesalesupply.com/stand.php I have not ordered any since Eagle was bought by EMC at the beginning of the year, but was told they are the same. The wood front panel works to hold the sides parallel; no need for the brackets on back. With the wood, I think it looks nicer, especially for restaurants. We have about 80 some of these out, a handful have been on the job for 15 years. And there is the option to have casters added at a good price. The only places we do not use this stand type is in groceries as the A&A step stand's sides will protect your machines from shopping cart dings... Jerry
  17. No problem...you are well on your way to being a certified Master sticker machine mechanic...
  18. Well, I finally got through to 'the girl' who knows how to run the computer at A&A Worst, err West...our order that was placed last Wed has not yet shipped out!! When I placed the order I made sure everything was in stock at the Cal warehouse - we had to drop the empty 2" capsules off of the order because they did not have them there in stock... And today I find out that the order has not yet shipped because they are waiting on one type of sticker that I ordered to arrive...even though it was in stock when I placed the order. So this goes back to that topic the other day of 'pecking order'...they must have yanked my stickers and given them to a 'bigger' customer. Its very hard to run a commercial route without using these guys because of the licenses they have, but I am (again) going to see just how little I can order from them in the future... Jerry
  19. Probably a toothpick in the coin mech. Lift the top half (product compartment unit) of the machine off and then when you can look straight down at the inside part of the coin mechs you will see springs on each side. You can remove the springs from the hooks at either end of the spring, and then you will be able to unscrew the two screws (one on each side) of the mech's top cover. Just lift that off and I bet you will see toothpick parts or a bent quarter jammed into the mech. Clean it out, and then finish pushing in the coin mech handle so the handle will end up back in the ready position. Now the important part, be sure and remember to slide the 'pusher bar' back to its original spot (just look at the other side that has been working ok) before you put the top back on. If you don't, then it won't vend any product because the upright bar attached to the coin mech won't make contact with the bottom of the 'pusher bar'. When you slide the pusher bar back to the proper position, it will vend one folder (just like it should have if not jammed half way through the process). One quick test before you lock up and you're back in business!! Jerry
  20. Just got off the phone with A&A West (california warehouse). I called to find out when our last order was shipped out, but it was much too hard a question for the receptionist to answer... "I'm sorry, our girl has just stepped out to lunch...you'll have to call back later." ------------------------------------------------- Hmmm, how is this possible with a computer sitting right there on the receptionist desk?? Here are some guesses, feel free to come up with your own... - 'the girl' is the only one there who can read and write (a very large % of California public school teachers send their own kids to private school)... - the receptionist was doing her nails, and didn't want to get polish on the keyboard... - the entire staff shares one brain, and 'the girl' accidentally took it to lunch in her purse... - I called at the very moment the receptionist was getting close to finally winning the computer's solitaire game for the first time... A&A customer for 15 years (what can I say, I'm a masochist), Jerry
  21. You should honor his new lifetime membership by replacing the phrase 'golpher' with 'lewis'...
  22. When you attach the new globes use washers to spread the stress out. Our globes last at least 5 times as long as before we started with the washers. Use a dime sized one for the Oak 300 and about a quarter sized for the 450. We have been doing this for about 10 years now and it really helps, we no longer have the globe 'tabs' shatter or break off. You might have to get longer screws, depending upon what came with the machine. Jerry
  23. When we started we decided upon red because that was the prevailing color of the brands (Oak for 1", NW for 2") we liked. This has worked out very well as the used market place became saturated thanks to the economy and Coinstar's selling bulk equipment. Jerry
  24. Awesome. All time best post here, easily... Jerry & Carol
  25. Yes, very good wheeling and dealing. That is the way we started, and except for cranes almost all of the equipment we have purchased over the past 10 years has been used. We have started and stuck with red (most common color) oaks for the small machines, and northwestern (or A&A's equivalent) for the 2" machines. Sticker machines are mainly either NW's 2 column or Advance units, although we do have some other types. And it is remarkable how extra fine steel wool can bring a rusty, dirty old chrome stand back to life...although when we buy new stands, we get them black. By far the most important and valuable part of a used bulk machine is the coin mech. A totally trashed unit can still be worth 10 bucks (or more) if bought only for the mech (if in good shape). Good luck, Jerry
