  1. The guy says they moved the machine out of his office to do a remodel. Asking $200 for a Dixie 368 looks to be in decent shape based on the pictures. Should I have a locksmith come to the site? Would they bust the lock or create a key or what? Would you guys stay away from this deal?
  2. I've been busy but meaning to post this. I had a situation where I had to purchase two machines in order to get a good deal. I had to place them before purchasing as I can't store them at my house. I placed one myself and turned to Eddie at the last minute. I called Eddie on Thursday evening and Friday by 1pm I had a great lead on a full line soda location. Eddie doesn't just do bulk! Keep up the good work!
  3. When thinking about getting started I absolutely loved reading through the revenue reports as it gave me confidence and ammunition when going at it with the old lady justifying my purchases . I want to document my experiences as I get up and running to possibly help others. A week ago today I placed my first soda machine and filled it up as they were closing. I literally walked out as they were locking the doors. This location is a lumber yard, they close at 12 noon on Saturday, closed Sunday, and this week due to labor day they were closed Monday. I went back Friday to check stock and measure for the snack machine that I delivered today. It's tough to say exactly what it did in those three days and an hour on Friday morning because I didn't fill my coin mech with quarters, it had some but not even half full. I had $23 in cash and the quarter tube was nearly full. I also had $1.95 in dimes and nickels in the coin bucket. The feeling of opening your first machine after it's been in service and flipping open the bill validator is extremely exciting. Today I added an AP7600 snack machine at this location and threw a variety of snacks in it. On Thursday of this past week I placed my second soda machine in an insulation shop with 20 employees and 30 customers per day. We'll see how it goes I'm not all that excited about the location but I had to move it as the seller had to get it out of where it was. So as of right now I have 3 machines out on location I'll post next time I check them and try and keep you all posted. If you are new to vending and just browsing the site, I assure you the vendiscuss forum is the single best source on the internet for both new and experienced vendors alike. Updates to come!

  5. But JD why can I scroll through and look at each of them C1 - C12 they are all 2 except 11 and 12 will not change.
  6. Something puzzled me when programming my first machine. When setting the vend depth of each column, 2 is for cans if the column is stacked two deep and 1 is for bottles or larger single-depth items. At least that is how I understood it from the manual. When you go into the menu on sdep mode and select all then 2 it changes all columns at once to 2. However, I needed to change three of them to 1 because they were bottles. I did this to column 4, 5, and 6. Everything is fine. I have cans in every column other than 4, 5, and 6. Here's what puzzles me. column 11 and 12 stay on sdep 1. They will not change to 2. The manual says that if a column is stacked two deep and it's set at 1 it will double vend everytime. 11 and 12 are stuck on 1 on the sdep mode and they are loaded two deep but vend just fine one at a time. Is there a reason why 11 and 12 will not change to 2?
  7. In my first few weeks of attempting to locate my machines I came across something that bothers me. I'm doing everything 100% legit in this business from my license, my openness with potential customers, and even separating my items at Samsclub taxable and nontaxable when I buy things for the house and inventory at the same time. I can't even say a lot of the machines I've seen from my competitors either do not have a current tax stamp on them or have never had one on them. Almost ALL of them are lacking a tax stamp. In my state each vending machine must have a tax stamp that costs $2.50 per year. Is this the norm where you all are? Are some of you culprits? It's only $2.50.
  8. As many of you already know I purchased and placed a Royal Merlin IV 650. First let me say this, I'm a larger than average guy, 6'4" 235 lbs. and holy crap are these things heavy! The appliance dolly with the kick out set of wheels absolutely was a life saver. I'm convinced I would have dropped the machine had I tried to use a regular dolly. I couldn't find anyone to move it for me in the area for anything south of $250. So I did it myself. I rented an appliance dolly as well as a set of piano movers. I purchased from the equipment rental company a heavy duty strap with the crank ($9) on it to tie the machine to the wall of the truck I rented. Appliance dolly and piano movers were $30 combined to rent for the day. The truck ran $160 including taxes, insurance, gasing her back up, and miles. I ran through everything in my mind, measured doors, and planned as much as possible. I did not plan to have my truck given away and for most of the truck rental places being sold out of liftgate trucks. But after about 45 minutes of frantic calling I found one. I rented a Ryder 16 ft. with a liftgate. There were two extremely nerve racking parts to my move. 1. When we had the machine on the liftgate and we we're loading it into the truck I unrolled my strap that I purchased from the rental place and wrapped it around the top half of the machine while the seller raised the gate I held both ends of the strap while I was inside the truck so the machine didn't topple off the back of the liftgate. That was extremely scary because it was so heavy if it did start to go it was going and me holding onto my little strap wasn't going to do anything except burn my hands. But all went well. 2. The 30 mile drive was so nerve racking. One thing I would absolutely change next time is how I secure the machine to the side of the truck. I purchased that strap and it worked but this one tiny strap made me really nervous I think next time I'll use like 3. Every bump I was waiting to hear the crashing sound of the machine in the back of the truck but it all went well. One thing that was a little more difficult than it should have been was negotiating the machine through the narrow doorway with the machine's door open. I rented the piano dolly for this but myself and three of the workers at the machine's location could not for the life of us figure out how to use the straps on this piano dolly that seems like they may be older than me. Luckily they had some rope and knew some crazy boyscout knots and the piano movers worked fine. Here's a picture of her with only three selections that I purchased on sale to test everything out and program my slots. I couldn't have done it without the help of this board so thank you all!
  9. My first account said he thought they were at 60 or 65 cents for cans. It's a non-commission account. Where do you guys think I should go in? keeping in mind it's easier to drop the price than to increase it down the road?
  10. Are you saying that from bad experiences with these machines?
  11. my first move is but hours away. I keep running through everything in my mind step by step. My hang up is this.... My doorway with the door removed is 35" my machine is 37"wide, 35.5"deep. Will opening the door and going door first or cabinet first work here? Also how does the door first or cabinet first move work on an appliance dolly?
  12. Are they quality? any idea what they might be worth? seems like it's a 19 select and I have the serial number if they can somehow tell us the age.
