  1. We have a Hotel we service that is lucrative, but has experienced some attempted theft issues as of late. Our thought was to keep the account, but make it credit card only as 90 percent of the sales in it are cashless and it would eliminate the theft issue. My question is in regard to the coin chute opening. If we leave it uncovered, customers will attempt to insert coins. We plan on removing the coin mech. Is there a device made to plug that opening? We could cover the opening with a sticker or something, but we all know that is a temporary fix. I would prefer something that inserts into the opening and cannot be removed by customers. Thanks in advance for your help.
  2. I forgot to mention that I have already completed the firmware update. There is a DN5800 beside it sharing an outlet. I will see if I can get these two machines on different breakers.
  3. Good morning. I am having an intermittent issue with a Crane Media 186 3.5 inch display board. From time to time, (usually once or twice a week) the board goes from it's normal screen to an all white screen with no words visible. When this happens, it also takes the payment systems off line. No bills coins or credit is accepted. If I turn off the machine and turn it back on, it goes back to normal functions. Sometimes it lasts two weeks, sometimes it lasts two days. The new display board runs about $750, so I want to make sure that is the issue before I purchase. I was also thinking Atlas board or even the main control board, though this is the only issue with the machine. Any ideas would be helpful.
  4. It sound like your Payrange may have accidently been set to Laundry mode. Follow these instructions to set to MDB mode. Power OFF Vending machine. Install BluKey Hold down button on BluKey (Do not let go) and power ON machine. Wait about 3 seconds after machine is turned On and then let go of BluKey button. LED on BluKey will be flashing blue, push button on BluKey once and it will start flashing a single red pulse. Power OFF machine and power back ON.
  5. These are Eport Engage Combo devices, not Eport Engages. Both machines I tried had the most up to date firmware available and I removed a working Eport G-10 EMV compatible device to install the Eport Engage Combo. I am thinking this may be a back end issue at Cantaloupe since these units are brand new to the market. I am going to contact tech support and I will see what they say. Thanks for the help.
  6. I just got the new Eport Engage Combo from Cantaloupe and connected them to a Royal 660 and an AMS-39 Combo. I kept getting a error message of " Unable to connect to network." Has anybody else got these new units and connected them successfully.
  7. Thanks guys. I am familiar with all the normal suppliers selling them for 7 to 10 bucks per shim. I was just wondering if any body had a lot of them sitting around and wanted to unload them for a cheap price. I would also be willing to swap bottle shims for can shims if anybody needs them. I have about 200 bottle shims in the warehouse I could swap for can shims.
  8. The parts department of our local pepsi bottler is having a tough time getting parts right now. We usually get our shims at no charge from the local bottlers, but cannot right now. Does anybody have any for sale or know where to buy at a reasonable price till the local bottlers get some back in stock.
  9. Good idea, thank you. I am going to try it that way this week.
  10. I have an ams 39 visi that I need to pick up from a location. The issue is that the entrance way to the break room in which the machine is located has been modified since the machine was installed 8 years ago. The modification decreased the clearance and now the machine will not fit thru the doorway, even with the door open. It will however, fit thru the doorway if I remove the door to the AMS and take the door and base thru seperately. I have never done this before in 25 years of vending and it scares the heck out of me thinking of all the possible pitfalls, but I am not sure I have any other choice. Has anybody ever moved an AMS this way. How difficult is it to reattach the door and all the harnesses that you need to disconnect. I do not want to lose a nice AMS machine. Thank you for your help.
  11. We operate 23 of the Fastcorp 820's and the issue you describe is common for us in the warm months. There is an option on the machine that you can program that will give the machine up to 4 hours to bring the temp back down to acceptable levels before the health sensor places the machine out of order. Simply go to health sensor timer, if memory serves me #14 on the menu, and set to 4 hours. Then you can lock the door and the machine will be working and will stay working as long as the temp comes down.
  12. I would say there is a very high chance that the reason the bill validator does not work is not because the current vendor is failing to empty out the bills from the magazine. A lot of people call our office and say " You have a machine that is not accepting bills because it is too full of bills." That is almost never the reason. There is either a bill jam, coin jam, coin mech low on change, needs to be reset etc. The expired soda and the fact that the current vendor is not regular with service sounds like maybe the account is not a money maker and he has pushed back his service schedule to try and get collections up. Think long and hard before you buy a brand new machine and put it on this account only to find out it does a hundred dollars a month. It will be a long return on investment.
