I have done some research, and read old posts on the forum. Also going to get a new bill counter but the coin counter is priority. What are you using recommendations? AngryChris
This is an interesting topic. I just purchased a Royal Sovereign from Sam's Club and it cuts my money-counting time in half. I'm happy with it,. I'm probably counting $300 in coins on a full day.

AngryChris
That's understandable. I'm just curious on the topic.

CapitalCityVendingLLC
I upgraded about a year ago from the Sam's royal sovereign to a Magner 100DC. What took me an hour with the RS takes me 5-10 minutes now with the Magner. The Magner jams once a month. The RS jammed once a minute. I found mine on eBay for just under $200 which was a steal. It was listed as "used/for parts". I contacted the seller and they said they listed it wrong and it was in mint condition and working just fine. It has saved me so much time and aggravation and was well worth the money. I did have to switch banks because my previous bank demanded rolled change and the Magner just puts them into bags. I am looking to find a nicer bill counter. I have used the Sam's RS bill counter for almost 7 years. I've had the same one for that time and it is still working fine. I do have to search through to look for 5's which takes a little bit of extra time. I would like to find a nicer counter that separates the 5's, 10's and 20's out. We only have about 20-25 machines that take 5's so I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Anyone know a good bill counter as the next step up that won't break the bank? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Magner-Electronic-Coin-Sorter-Counter-Machine-110DC-/122127610528?hash=item1c6f5f72a0:g:sGcAAOxyM89SdsQ8 That's the coin counter I have. Looks out dated, but works like a charm.
Southeast Treats
I tried a RS coin counter for about 15 minutes, packed it back up and returned it to the seller, it was too much like a toy. I have been using an imported machine (Coin-Mate) for a few years, it will only count one denomination at a time but sorts well and is very accurate. I had to find a local shop to repair it one time, and they had a time finding parts, but did get it up and running again. I want to upgrade fairly soon, but this is a link to the model I now have http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ribao-COIN-MATE-CS-2000-HIGH-SPEED-COIN-COUNTER-CS2000-/282381016456?hash=item41bf385d88:g:t3UAAOSw4A5YuIIG. When you step up to a bill counter that can read and sort bills the cost goes WAY up.... I have the most basic counter made by Semacon and it's a big help. I would like to be able to have a machine that sorts as well, but it's way down on my "nice to have when I can afford it" list. This is one I have been looking at: https://banksupplies.com/730-52500
CapitalCityVendingLLC
I hate how websites say "request a quote"... List your price. And yes, I have heard from many people that a bill counter that discriminates what each bill is jacks the price way up. I'm with you. It'd be nice to have but I have more important things to spend my money on as of now. I've always wondered what the banks do when they retire their old ones but the ones at my bank already look ancient. They probably rarely break, and when they do, it looks like they repair them because they look decades old.
tc vending
I have been leaning towards cummins jetsort but a magner I will consider. New cummins run 3to7 K would like a used one. Capital City I will sort bills for the cost increase I am leaning towards a used cummins. The banks bill counter is older than my 10 year old royal but it is a cummins. Golfdogs
I bit the Bullet last year and spent $1800 on an Amorotec bill discrimator. Other than not liking wrinkled bills, this thing works great. I can't begin to tell you how much time it has saved me from flipping through stacks of bills looking for 5's. It is fast and very accurate. My bank teller was just commenting to me how accurate my bills have been. For those sitting on the fence, I wish I had made this purchase a year earlier. AngryChris
I count my money at home and usually in the living room. For me, in my current situation, I don't mind spending a little time counting money. If I wasn't home, I am sure things would be far different as I would just want to be home. As of late, I was spending 1-2 hours each day counting money at my leisure. That was finally reduced to about 30-45 minutes with the Royal Sovereign counter that I got for $80. To me, it will pay for itself in about 2 weeks, so it's a great investment.

arkhusker
I found a Cummins Jetsort 6000 that came out of a casino on ebay for $800 plus shipping ($200ish) about 3 years ago. Do not regret it for a second. Bought the JetScan iFX i100 new from Cummins. We run anywhere from $800-1500 a day in 15-20 min, start to finish. Bills & coins are counted by batch and 10 keyed onto register tape with the bag #, then bills are sorted and bundled by denom. Loads better then the old Brandt I bought on, also on ebay, in '04. It was old then but it got the job done. Out first bill counter was an old Glory that a bank was no longer using and gave to us.
vinceqc
I have a De Larue Mach 3 and I am really satisfied with it.I had a Cassida C200 for a long time before I upgraded and although it is made in China it never let me down
AMD Snacks
Can anyone tell me if the Jetsort (I'm looking at a 2000) can separate Canadian quarters from US quarters?
flintflash
Normally, no they do not separate Canadian from US. However, there is a magnetic plate that you can purchase (from Jetsort) that will pull the Canadian out as you dump it into the shoot. Apparently Canadian coin is magnetic (I never knew this until I saw another vendor using one to pull out the Canadian). We just deposit the Canadian along with the the US coin. Unless it's Canadian Loonies (dollar coin), most banks don't squawk at the coins being mixed.
AZVendor
Those of us long enough in the business remember the S75 Coinco and National Rejectors changers with the mechanical acceptors that had magnets in them to catch slugs and Canadian coins...and would then jam the coin mech with the stuck coin. The coin return lever sweep wouldn't always remove the coins.
