  1. Hey Group, So I found another 64 Cavalier that gets cold, so I got it home and swapped the cooling decks. Boy does it get cold, It's currently set to 4 I may have to drop it down to 2. The problem now is that when the compressor is running it's got a loud buzz. Anything I can do to quite it down? It's annoying enough that I wouldn't even want it running in my garage. I am hoping I don't need to buy another one of these.... Here is a short video of what the buzzing sounds like: https://youtu.be/kwevOf_8zuE And I unplugged the compressor to see if it was the fan and the fan run's nice a quiet so it has to be the compressor. The one on the left is the one I am fixing up. 🙂
  2. ORSD, Oh Reckless Refreshments does work quite nicely! 🙂 Thanks for the info ill try the hard start kit. For the Vendo here is the link with photos:
  3. Ok I just picked up this Cavalier USS-8-64 - Coca-Cola machine. I am super excited about it. The previous owners said that they used it until it stopped getting cold. I got it for a good price so thought I would see about getting it back up and running. When i plug it in it clicks on for a few seconds then clicks off. Well it clicks not sure if it's running. The turns on and stays running just fine. Could this just be a compressor relay? Here is a video I made, let me know what you think. Youtube video: https://youtu.be/V6lFJ3_juGE Huge thanks in advance.
  4. OK I totally just made up "Reckless Rewards Vending Co.". But it does sounds good! I am a hobbyist of many, I use the handle "Reckless Rewards" so all my brands for my hobbies use that same RR in their logo. Reckless Rewards - https://recklessrewards.com - Automotive, Modification, Camping, DIY Junk. Reckless Ranch - https://recklessranch.net - Urban Homesteading, Chickens, crops, DIY Farm automation. Reckless Railroad - https://recklessrailroad.com - HO Scale Railroad: Layout, Locomotives, Passenger & freight Cars, mods. I don't make money on any of my hobbies I just like to tinker and learn. So I'm sure it will be the same with this new interest of mine "vending machines"... So far I have two sets of two quarter Candy dispensers (I know not that impressive, LOL) , a Pepsi Soda Machine (Vendo) that I have had for a few years. And last but not least as of today a Coca Cola machine (Cavalier) that I hope to fix up the coke machine for my back yard, but I might put the Pepsi machine to work at a local business. I am eager to start learning for this group and at some people be able to help others. My Inventory: 1964 Cavalier USS-8-64 - Coca-Cola (My newest addition) Current Issue: Compressor Clicks on and off. Vendo V284 - Pepsi Current Issue: Freezes up And the 2 candy dispensers. (FYI: I added the Coca-Cola Logo's to go with my extensive Coke collection.)
  5. Hey all looking for some advice. I am a collector and a novice when it comes to vending machines. But I have always been intrigued by them. I would like to fix my Vendo 264 to use at my home and at some point re-brand it to go with my large Coca-Cola collection. If possible I would like to repair it on my own. I have had a Vendo 264 for a few years and ever since I got it it builds up ice around the lines (see photo), at this point I have had it plugged in for about 20 min. If I keep it plugged it that block of ice get larger and larger. Could an air leak cause this ice to build up this fast? I originally thought it was the thermostat so I replaced that and was able to confirm it triggered the compressor on and off when I turned the adjustment screw. Before I decide to replace the entire cooling deck I wanted to get everyone's take on things i should do before going to such an extreme. Some more details: Currently the machine is outside running for 20 min and the ambient temp is 63 degrees.
