  1. been there, done that, got a perfectly functional 501e for $185, seller attempted to renigg on the auction but he was a regular seller, and they told him if he renigged, they would ban him.
  2. Adjustable rods? Yup, they have improved since my model then! there is no adjusting rods on mine. at the top where it fits into the coin mech, you have a 3/4 of an "S" bent into the rod. and at the bottom of the rod is just a hook type bend. Best of luck!! If it is virtually maintenance free or really low maintenance, this would be the way to go. Customer gets their change, drink and snack, and you don't lose your pocket book on initial investment to give them what they want!
  3. For the whole setup? MAY BE $225... 50 for the soda, 50 for the snack and 125 for the change machine. I bought a similar setup, but didn't have a place to put it right away so I set it up in my game room at home. 2-3 weeks (roughly after 4-5 vends from the same flavor) doesn't go by that I don't have to take one of the coin mechs apart on the soda machine and fidget with it so it works properly.... the bar that runs down from the mech to the levers that dispenses the cans is always getting into binds... But the machines may be better built nowadays. my soda machine was manufactured over 14yrs ago. As for the snack machine, its harder to turn the knobs on the snack machine than it is to turn the knob on my Vendstar bulk vendors! And there are times, that i have to take the mechs apart on the snack machine also because of the quarters binding with the pins.
  4. I second that! I live in a small town, and I have seen owners of mom and pop type establishments at Wally World stocking up on the cases of drinks for their stores, restaurants and their machines because they can get them cheaper there than through their own bottler accounts. One local store owner that goes to our church stated that even with ordering 35 cases a delivery of Pepsi products, it still costs him $5.75/case and thats before his weekly delivery fee! Its pretty sad when the owner of a small store has to go to a bigger store to save money over ordering direct from the supplier!
  5. but since the machine is currently set up for cans, I would need shims etc to run 20oz bottles right?
  6. Thats what I/we did. Except we had 5k put back and averaged our monthly utility bills for the year and paid them a year in advance! so I had 12 months to either rise or fall on my arse. luckily, I rose!
  7. I was reading through a service manual on a DNCB 368 and for the DNCB 368/216-7-8 it has,,,,, Can, 12oz 368 Bottle, Reg. 210 10 oz. PLB 396 I know what a 12oz can is, but what is a "Bottle, Reg"? and what is a "10oz PLB" Thanks!!!
  8. My wife and I got into an argument one day over finances and I stormed out of the house. took a little drive to the gas station to pick up a paper to see about finding a second job. I saw 6 machines next to each other, While reading the paper in an empty parking lot, I noticed people coming and going from the machines. So for 30mins I watched and there were 3 people that stopped by those machines, one person bought more than one drink. So it got me thinking " even at the very worst, if I only sold one item per machine per day, that would still bring in a $90+ profit each month after cost of goods." So I went home, got on the computer and googled things... First thing that popped up was this site.... Then I found craigslist and found some machines that a guy was despirately attempting to get rid of. So I bought them and he even delivered them for me. I got the 8 machines for $2400. I didn't have the cash for it. But he mentioned that he wanted the money for a storage shed. So we settled on a deal. he and I went to Home Depot and I used my Credit Card towards a Shed/storage building. After I believe 3 months, I had the CC paid off and I have never looked back. No, My route wont make me rich and cause me to retire early but it is nice having an extra $1500 each month... And I just reinvest it in other routes. Hoping one day, When I retire from my day job, I can buy a huge gas guzzling RV to travel all over the US and pay for my gas one quarter at a time! lol
  9. hmmm looks like the 3rd party machine coke put in the restaurant that I work at. same vault graphic as us, and Coke, diet coke, sprite and the bottle water are in the same locations as ours is also.
  10. Very much understand now! Thanks for simplifying it for me.
  11. Very good points! The point I was trying to make about the motel was, around here national chains will build a motel, if it does poorly, they will pretty much sell it to any John Doe that comes by and offers to buy it. Then John Doe has high hopes and works on it constantly to try and improve the building, but more times than not it ultimately ends up going bankrupt. But in reference to your post, if it was a national chain, I would have done just that. After I had cooled down and gotten over the hostility of losing that much money, I would have started calling people higher up the ladder/ chain of command. If anything, just to give them a heads up. any action they took besides something against me, Would have been bittersweet.
  12. Wow! 2 vendors from the same state! 1 says Dubble Bubble, the other says stay away! That much of a difference in just one state? That is totally nuts!
  13. Thank You Clifford! I didn't know you could do that. Just out of curiosity, Any others?
  14. Over the last 7-8yrs, I have accumulated over 7 different email addresses. Over the last 4yrs I have had a Palm, Black Berry, I phone. Due to not having to travel far from home and be gone for 2-3 nights a week. My I phone will be hitting ebay this weekend and I will be back to the simple life of a regular cell phone in attempt to save about $120/month. Is there an application or an online program that will automatically down load all of my different emails in one place like my smart phones did, rather than going to over 7 different sites and entering in over 7 different user names and passwords?
  15. my father has a tom tom, (although its a yr. old) and he is always hooking it up to his computer to download routes. I will ask him tomorrow what he uses and get back to you.
  16. wow! I hope I have better luck than you have had in the last 18 months when I start my bulk route.
  17. I am sorta thankful that I was forced to bring my 4yr old with me on the route that day. Dunno what it is but when I have my children with me, I am able to keep my cool better, unless it would effect them. As my wife put it when I told her that evening when she got home from work, "glad zoey was with you, other wise I would probably be down at the county jail right now bailing your a$$ out."
  18. Almost 50 bucks for 3lbs of gum. Holly Crap!!!!!!!!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o
  19. Paid with Benjamins. Lesson learned... Not sure what it used to be, but reminded me of a national chain., they had the road sign covered up with a tarp and they were fixing it up. staff wore Jeans and button up shirts. It was on East Chicago St. in Coldwater, MI
  20. Yes indeed, get it in writing! Last year I placed 2 snack and two Vendo 511 bottle machines in a locally owned hotel/motel with 30 rooms for $100/month with 5 months in advanced right then and there. I paid $125 to get the machines professionally moved into the location. First service I pulled in $220 some dollars Second week the machines were unplugged, The mgr said they didn't want them any more. So I kindly asked for $400 worth of rent returned that I had paid him. Based on our agreement (was attempting to be nice and let him have a full month) He leaned towards me and in a low voice said "prove the agreement" and then he walked off. So lesson learned. GET IT IN WRITING!
