  1. Yes, but they probably last much longer. Depending on the location I have to replace mine once or twice a year. I found them for $40 a piece, I guess thats not terrible. Thanks! It's the compact, model 127 I believe. I found a good supplier, might even be you hence they came from Florida.
  2. I guess I'm just used to paying $25. Hard to believe the price should jump 100% in a year.
  3. Can you tell me how to get ahold of the seller. I'm having trouble finding genesis parts.
  4. Hey guys, Anyone know who supply's genesis manufacturing with their keypad membranes? I need to order a few and the best they can do for me is $50. Seems outrageous for an electronic sticker. They were $25 a year ago when I ordered. Also, if anyone knows another vendor that sells them for cheap I would appreciate it. They sell a crap vending machine and then back it up with selling outrageously expensive parts with terrible customer service. It infuriates me. Thanks, Dustin
  5. Thanks for the reply. I have done all of that except the bills. It has trouble accepting worn bills, I think they just need to be refurbished. Where did you find your guy that repairs them? Is he a specific repair guy for vending machines or just general electronics?
  6. Hey Guys, I have a couple ICT bill acceptors that are having trouble accepting bills. They only accept perfect dollars. In the past I have just bought new units but that gets expensive. Does anyone know what the most common issue is that causes that? I wanted to attempt to repair them myself. Thanks
  7. Thanks, I'm fairly new at vending and have been just buying new validators, so I was really happy when I realized you could repair them.
  8. Hey guys, I have a few worn out bill acceptors and I was wondering if there was anywhere I could send them to get them refurbished. Thanks
  9. I'm in a pre-dental program with a lot of credits right now and I also work at a dental office. So between school, studying, and work I don't have a ton of time. I paid $18,000 for the route 2 years ago so I'm kinda disappointed that I'm only going to get 10k max. So far the machines have been very good, even the higher volume ones despite their relatively low capacity. What problems have other people experienced from these machines? Also, other than finding better locations is there anything that I could do to increase the value of the business?
  10. The machines are about 2 years old. Been at the same locations since I got them. 2 machines do about $85 a week with the others evenly contributing to the rest of the $1300. I know I should look for better locations but, being a college student my time is very limited. Which is the reason why I'm thinking about selling. I have heard a lot about these machines being bad but I have had very little problems with them.
  11. I'm thinking about selling my route. 10 genesis combo machines, 7 are in locations making about $1300/month gross. All are in very secure locations. What do you guys think is a good starting point?
  12. So, I've been in the vending business for about 2 years now. In the last few months I have seen a decrease in sales in a few of my machines. One in particular is at a Hertz Auto Sales. Obviously the auto industry isn't doing its best right now. I assume the salesmen and other employees have cut back and tightened their own wallets. Have any of you guys experienced recent drops in sales? If so what types of locations are they?
  13. So, I started in the vending business about 8 months ago and everything has gone great. But, today I went into an account to fill one of my better machines and I was approached by the office manager. She presented to me a snickers bar that had been chewed into by what looks to be a mouse. Quite possibly the most embarrassing that has ever happened to me and was completely unacceptable. Luckily she was discrete and understanding about the incident. I have been storing my snacks in cardboard boxes but today I went out and got a few sealable plastic boxes. I was wondering how you guys store and transport your snacks from your truck or car into the location? The plastic boxes are just a bit to bulky to carry and a little to flimsy to be put on a hand truck.
