  1. Post this question in the Beverage and Food forum where a lot of people know a lot about this. This is the bulk forum - different style.
  2. Is there a reason that one of those heads isn't gumballs? They're strong sellers and very good profit margin. Anywhere around here gumballs would make 5x what a funny bones (or any candy) head would do. The only concern would be selling the box of GBs before it went stale (most people have multiple locations) but with your sales numbers I'm guessing you wouldn't have any problem.
  3. You should spend some time searching through posts and reading the main sticky post and you'll get answers to just about every question. When you do you'll find that most bulk vendors use a scale to very quickly get the count. And service when you want - if the location insists on only servicing at certain times you may want to consider if that's worth the hassle. Other than avoiding the busiest times (like a pizza place at 1130am) I service when I can and whoever is manning the shop takes the commission with receipt.
  4. A year and they're still full? That's a slow location! But I do love a good chicken kabob salad. Make sure you search through and read some of the abandoned machine threads - most pros advise other vendors to not touch them to avoid running afoul of abandoned property laws.
  5. I interchange gumballs and capsules without a riser. Just a different wheel. The manufacturer Beaver will help if you need specifics like part numbers.
  6. I have a barber shop that was doing $45/month (one double head, GB/toys). A charity single head GB shows up with a picture of a lost child on the front and my numbers drop to $18 to $20 per month. My machine is a Beaver RB16 double, brand new from the manufacturer, meticulously maintained, always fresh GBs - possibly the best looking 1" machine on the planet so I'm not losing on appearance. That guy is buying himself a new iPhone by using that lost kid's picture. If your operation is better than this guys - good for you. BTW I've been active on this forum since 2012 and have found tha
  7. I always chuckle when people argue about how charity locations aren't scamming the location. I agree you may not be scamming the location, but you are dishonest to the person putting the quarter in! You are using that picture of that cute sad kid to get the quarter which you in turn use most of towards a night out at the movies. Try giving the charity 25% (which is what many pay in commission - a perfectly manageable business model) instead of $1 and then you can sleep better at night.
  8. I have a 2-column A&A flat machine - bought it new 2 years ago. Some kids figured out that if you don't put any money in, but repeatedly slide the lever back and forth eventually a tattoo comes out. I opened it up and found that pushing in the lever (without money) until it stops and releasing causes the little square plate to move just slightly and catches the bottom tattoo and moves it a tiny bit towards the slot. Do that enough times and it works it's way out. I assume this is a known scenario - what's the standard remedy? A little wd-40 on the top of the square plate ?
  9. An alternate point of view: I'm a part time vendor - I do service runs only about twice a month, since 2012. I've been using the scale below ($30) and it still calibrates perfectly. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FSWB9K/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 No I don't think it's nearly as good as the Acucount nor do often disagree with the pros, but I think it's important to present an alternate option for part timers or new vendors reading this forum. If your business is too small to afford the best, I think something like the one I use above is reasonable.
  10. Here's one that might give you a few ideas. http://vendiscuss.net/index.php?/topic/21131-bulk-vending-brochure/?fromsearch=1
  11. I have 1 machine outside. I would never place one there - this one was inherited and does well enough that I left it (in hindsight not a great decision but not disastrous). It's getting trashed from weather although it's been there 3 years so I've made enough to cover the machine cost. Someday it will get stolen, vandalized, or disintegrate and I won't replace it.
  12. Rebel - Search these forums for "abandon" and you'll get an ear full! Here's a recent one: http://vendiscuss.net/index.php?/topic/24229-abandoned-competitor-machines/?fromsearch=1
  13. Thanks Musser. Always appreciate your input.
  14. Haven't purchased the newest stuff yet. I've been running squish and fossil friends (and most toys) at 50 cents.
  15. Wow. I've been on this forum and vending successfully since 2012. I've read hundreds of hours of old posts and I can tell you exactly what sold well in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. What I don't know is what others are selling well the last few months. Brand has new toys, TNT has new toys. Pretty reasonable question to me musser. But of course you immediately assumed I was brand new and didn't read anything. This is a forum - either give the benefit of the doubt or don't reply. That is if you want this place to stop being a ghost town.
