  1. Coin scales

An alternate point of view: I'm a part time vendor - I do service runs only about twice a month, since 2012. I've been using the scale below ($30) and it still calibrates perfectly. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FSWB9K/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 No I don't think it's nearly as good as the Acucount nor do often disagree with the pros, but I think it's important to present an alternate option for part timers or new vendors reading this forum. If your business is too small to afford the best, I think something like the one I use above is reasonable.
  2. locating flyer

Here's one that might give you a few ideas. http://vendiscuss.net/index.php?/topic/21131-bulk-vending-brochure/?fromsearch=1
  3. Can you service a machine that is outside?

I have 1 machine outside. I would never place one there - this one was inherited and does well enough that I left it (in hindsight not a great decision but not disastrous). It's getting trashed from weather although it's been there 3 years so I've made enough to cover the machine cost. Someday it will get stolen, vandalized, or disintegrate and I won't replace it.
  4. Ethical Question

Rebel - Search these forums for "abandon" and you'll get an ear full! Here's a recent one: http://vendiscuss.net/index.php?/topic/24229-abandoned-competitor-machines/?fromsearch=1
  5. 1" toys - what's selling well?

Thanks Musser. Always appreciate your input.
  6. 1" toys - what's selling well?

Haven't purchased the newest stuff yet. I've been running squish and fossil friends (and most toys) at 50 cents.
  7. 1" toys - what's selling well?

Wow. I've been on this forum and vending successfully since 2012. I've read hundreds of hours of old posts and I can tell you exactly what sold well in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. What I don't know is what others are selling well the last few months. Brand has new toys, TNT has new toys. Pretty reasonable question to me musser. But of course you immediately assumed I was brand new and didn't read anything. This is a forum - either give the benefit of the doubt or don't reply. That is if you want this place to stop being a ghost town.
  8. Leader items in a 1" mix

I'm quite familiar with the concept but apparently not getting my question across. If no one else has a contribution, I'll drop it.
  9. Leader items in a 1" mix

That might do it, although I was thinking lock stock barrel is more of a full head itself instead of something I can add to my already existing mix. I suppose I could add my existing mix into a LSB head.
  10. Leader items in a 1" mix

I once put a good item (self vend so it was visible) at the top of a 1" mix head to entice buyers and it worked so well that they got my good item (a sample, i only had one). Has anyone had success with this method? If so what did you use for a leader and where did you get it?
  11. I Know New England can be unique in what sells, but here goes. I do well with Squishland, diamond gems, nice erasers, grow animals, and bouncy balls. Puppy figurines are also excellent but I can't place a big enough order for a discount so I don't run them too often. What 1" is selling for you?
  12. Ghost Town

My favorite topics are always the route purchases because every situation is unique and it's nice to hear the pro's opinions. And threads about what toys are selling well lately. Both generate interest from the masses and I haven't seen too many of either lately. Hmm, maybe I'll start a thread on toys.
  13. Sack Of Sh*t

I know anything goes in the gopher, but two things that make this forum great are providing reliable factual information and not hijacking threads. We'll call this thread an anomaly and get back to the good stuff.
  14. Mike & Ike No Longer Sold at Sams

Quill.Com used to be a decent option if you couldn't do Sam's or BJ'S, but they've gone up to 1299 free shipping (3+ bags). Tj king might be cheaper now.
  15. Does anyone know how these large companies service their locations when they're far apart? For example NEN has toysrus in my area and little or nothing else. Is some NEN employee driving 30 minutes between toysruses one day a month, then moves to a neighboring state? Or does NEN hire someone local in each area? So many inefficiencies in either method. I have to say, their setup here is nice. New looking machines, clean, neat, very well presented.
