  1. Hi all, Brand new to forum and vending in general--thank you for having this resource, I have already leapt forward miles in my education in a short time. I became interested in bulk candy vending years ago when I didn't have any money to invest. Now that's about to "change", and I still feel the vending business model fits me best in every way. My concern is that the small amount of change received in each candy machine would require having hundreds of locations in order to generate the level of income I'm aiming for, roughly 6-7k net profit per month. So my question is, what types of vending are known for producing the best net income while consuming no more than two weeks per month of solid, full-time daily effort? (My wife and I would like to take an occasional vacation). My goal is to be 100% realistic, work hard, have patience, serve the public, maintain integrity, listen and learn from you experienced folks, and build slowly if necessary. Purchasing necessary equipment to build quickly will not be problematic. Thanks
  2. I am surprised to see so many use spreadsheets to run their business, I don't work for them, I just got a problem with them! I have the full version of the software, and believe me, its great, I don't have to guess, or figure out what goes where or worry about lost locations, I put it in once, set it and forget it, until next time. when its ready, itll show up red, and then I can go service the location. but my issue is a simple one, a few years ago I had a full version, but it was the older version, so I figured id buy the new one since it was half price if you already had the program. now back then, I was able to activate the software on any pc, so if I had 2 pc's I can activate them both, one is a steady, and one for backup. a few years ago I contacted them, letting them know that I am upgrading my pc, and that I would like to activate the software on the new pc, after 2 years, I finally get a response that I have to pay for it again, I asked why? they said it was all newly updated, you can get the demo to see it, so I did, no harm, but then I started checking the versions of the program, and it winds up that there was no update, in fact my current software was beyond what they were trying to make me pay for $150 for, now I don't mind paying for newer stuff, but why would I pay for something that's older than what I have? apparently their versions that they so called "updated" are "outdated"! now I also understand they cannot do everything for free, but I made it clear, I'm not paying for stuff older than what I already have! so I asked them to activate my new PC so I can have the full version instead of the demo, and till this day no response! $150 for old stuff, and I thought my software was outdated, its like Microsoft trying to sell you windows 97 in 2018, only $100! ha ha ha, I want to make sure everyone knows about crooks in the vending business, they are all over, the worse thing is, they were very helpful back in the day, why not now, everyone struggles, and that's understandable, but don't give me BS! http://www.softessentials.com/ record your stuff with them! still to this day no response! the most recent one is from 8/17! we have time people, hopefully they will read this and make some real changes!
  3. so I bought a vendo! I know, I know..... I set it up, the machine is fairly new, and in great condition, I changed the bill acceptor, there are 10 lines in the machine, and 9 buttons, I am slowly learning the machine menu, it vends everything perfect, except 1 selection, sometimes ill put $1, and it will not vend, so I put another $1, it then vends, the next time I put $1 in, it vends for $1, this happens every other time, on this one selection only. what is wrong with it? what do I need to do? is it something in the menu? 2. I do I remove force vend? when I put $1 in, and press coin return, it will not return, and force me to purchase, please help
  4. I am just starting to do research to get into this and am interested in snack and beverage machines. How much money would I typically be able to make from one machine in a month? I don't know how many I can buy to start out and want to get an idea about it at the beginning. Any recommendations would be great!
  5. For some reason my vending machine wont accept a certain amount of coins. I have one machine that has no problem taking $2.50 and I have one that will not accept anything over $1.50 can someone explain to me what the problem could be,
  6. Has anyone bought plush from one of those large vendors like Vendomatics or NEN? I notced NEN now has a rewards program on their plush, would it be smart to try and buy their plush? Is it possible? Sorry I am a new vendor trying to learn the amusement vending business as best as possible.
  7. Okay. A vendor had this machine at our church and when they went out of business we bought it from them. Now it has developed a problem and I guess since it is so old no one wants to come work on it. Hoping to get some insight if anyone would be so kind before we spend any money on parts. The machine will function fine for awhile when plugged in. Then, it begins to start adding credit. The available credit just starts counting up and doesn't stop. I think last time I checked it was at $50,000 :-D Any idea what the issue? Someone on the phone suggested the control board but don't want to spend $370 on an old machine and then still have it not working. Any troubleshooting steps? I'm good mechanically. I handle all of the tech and a/v here (moving lights and such) Thanks in advance!
  8. I am not sure how to tell if a location is good or not based on the amount made in a month or two and if I should move my machine or not. Can someone tell me what is considered the average gross amount of money made per double or single head machine. What is considered bad and would need to be relocated. I want to make sure my expectations are not too high or too low. I know it may vary per person but a ball park figure would help me out. What amount would cause you to move your machine or leave it? Thanks
  9. I have been thinking about getting into vending part time. I have also been considering ATM machines since they are much easier to service. Does anyone have any experience with these?
  10. I went to cash my paycheck on Friday & they gave me some of the new 100 dollar bills It made me start thinking about a MEI VN2511 validator I had that said it took 5's but would not accept them whenever I put one in. It took singles just fine but it made me start thinking about weather government had any plans to make any of the smaller bills in the funny money format similar to these. Can anyone answer? Do some bills not work in some validators because the validators were made prior the bills came out? Is there anything that can be done to remedy this if so? If you have a validator refurbished does it get upgraded to take new bills? My validator had a sticker that said $5 2008. What exactly does that mean? I am sure there are also things that I am not thinking of so if anyone can think of anything regarding this subject please share.
  11. I'm starting into an article writing exploration and have a new one up on bulk vending. Let me know what you think! http://www.infobarrel.com/The_Truth_About_Making_Money_in_Bulk_Vending
