  1. Hi all! I am new to this forum, I am based in the UK and looking to make the venture into honor boxes (Honour in the UK.) After browsing this forum for several weeks I cant seem to see any UK based companies? If you are from the UK and in this business please reach out to me! I have spoken to bhumphreys as everyone will know him, but I just want to get a wider selection of answers too! For those in the business: 1) What is your opinions of using a charity? Do you use charities? I know the laws differ in both countries but is anyone aware of the legal aspect of this? If I went down the route of using a charity would I need to declare some form of legislation or can I simply just donate said amount of profit without and charity licences etc.? 2) In regards to suppliers of boxes I have tried Camerons packaging and Sheridan Systems but the delivery is exceptionally high as you can imagine. I also contacted the Honour Box Guy who was kind enough to give me a quote on his boxes but the same problem occurred. So my question is mainly aimed at UK based people, who are your box suppliers? I think these are my main questions for now as I have done a lot of research on this and im excited to get going. I am aware of several success stories but if anyone would like to share with me their journey or any advice that they did or would do different upon starting their journey, I would love to hear it! Thanks for taking your time to read this! Joe

  4. Brothers and sisters, Im a rookie at the vending machine business near San Jose and Pleasanton area of California, I'm looking for a reliable and efficient way to get started by starting reasonable and building up. Does anyone know any trustworthy vending machine programs or partnerships that I can join which can hook me up And help me with everything possible and give me some tips that lead to your huge success ?? 5. I am just starting to do research to get into this and am interested in snack and beverage machines. How much money would I typically be able to make from one machine in a month? I don't know how many I can buy to start out and want to get an idea about it at the beginning. Any recommendations would be great!
  6. Hello everyone! My new National 158 has developed an intermittent bug, I think. Though the machine has operated without any other issues to my knowledge, the location has called twice now mentioning that the display light inside the unit has gone off on them. However, when I go to check it, it's on and I can't find anything wrong. Is there perhaps a power save feature I'm unaware of, or something else entirely? I'm optimistic it's something simple (if not something I've done by accident), but I'm not entirely sure. I've only had this unit for a little while, so I haven't quite learned it all yet, so I may truly just be missing something here. Thank you all in advance for your time and assistance!
  7. Hello, I'm a noob when it comes to vending. I have this old Polyvend snack machine and I decided to put it to work but it has no bill validator. I bought one from eBay but of course, it's never that easy... I got the wrong validator. What validator would work for my machine? Model number: PV5524m

  9. Hello, I am a bulk candy vendor, but I have a client wanting a soda machine. Can anyone give me brand names for good quality used soda machines? I would consider snack/soda also if price is reasonable. Looking to pay about $1000. Is that a reasonable expectation? There are about 50-60 employees it would service. Thank you in advance. 10. I am fairly new to vending. Recently I obtained my first account, which is about 400 kids a week at a dance studio. The owner wants snacks - in addition to beverages. She does not want two machines (snack and beverage separate). From research and other topics posted in the forum, I realize I want to stay away from combo machines I was told my best solution for this would be a cold food machine, where items such as cup of noodles and 20 oz bottles can be accessible. I want this to also be some what profitable and want to be able to find a happy medium for both the client and myself - considering she is asking for 10 percent. Any thoughts? Do I convince her to put in two machines? Cold food machine? What type of machine does anyone recommend? Thanks! KK
  11. Having problems with my AMS 39 w/chiller. I haven't been to the location yet, but my partner has. I have a Royal 650 there, as well. Both machines not working. We've had a lot of rain and lightening recently. He unplugged the Royal 650 and plugged it back in. It works now. He did that a couple times with the AMS 39 w/chiller with no joy. Display reads "out of service" What are some things I should be looking at once I get to the location?
  12. Hey guys. Just landed a nice account. 2 Mexican automotive shops with massive foot traffic. Was wondering, what sells well to this demographic outside of Flamin' Hot Cheetos? Ideas please!
  13. Ok. First off this is a bit of a rant. but I feel it is necessary. Anyway, I have been going at this vending game for a little over 2 years. I have one very good account now that nets me $1,000 a month, and one smaller account that does about $100 a month net. I live in a town of about 80,000 people, plus two colleges with over 25,000 students. I have had probably 25 meetings with various account managers in all types of business's. I have been aggressive with follow ups, explained my pricing structure, discussed commissions when applicable, and been overly nice. I HAVE NOT CLOSE ONE ACCOUNT IN OVER YEAR! I have been very upset as I feel I am very up front with all these locations, and my pricing is very competitive. I am getting to the point where I feel I am too small to compete with these guys. What the hell am I doing wrong? I hate to sound winey, but this is a tough business, and I am a tough dude, as I have been battling Addisons Disease for over 2 years. I just need some veterans to chime in, and maybe wake my golpher up a bit. I don't think I could have been more clear, friendly, and concise in these meetings. I even offer a variety of "healthier" options too. I feel I may be missing something. There really is only 3 other vending companies in my area..
  14. Hi everyone! I'm wanting to sell snacks, room temp, to office workers. Buildings have elevators, I only have a cpl ready to start with. I can't lift heavy things (30 lb limit) and I drive a big car. I could restock at my car between buildings. But...... What type of cart would be best ? It needs to break down or fold to fit in car, needs to hold snacks and also give visibility. Any ideas? Of course my budget is tight. Thanks in advance!
  15. Hey guys. Currently, I'm a small fish in a big pond. I have 3 locations. 1 grosses 1400 per month, 1 1200 and 1 200. I buy variety packs on a handful of brands because they don't offer individual products at my local wholesale club. With these products, I rotate them in the row, so I'm not stuck with the one that doesn't sell. I haven't had any complaints yet. My question is "Is this ok to do" and when should I start considering buying from a distributer that can give me the exact products and sizes I want?
  16. Hello everyone, I'm completely new and haven't purchased a vending machine yet, but I am eager to get started. I'm looking to get my feet wet by purchasing 3 snack machines and placing them in the DC Metropolitan area. I've come up with a name, and even wrote out a business plan, but at this point, I'm hoping for some insight on the best way to acquire routes and/or locations. I've considered all the typical locations like schools, community centers, and gyms, but I'm afraid that all the good areas are likely to be taken. Where do you all suggest I get started? And what's the best way to get my foot in the door? Also, my other issue is the regulations and licensing. I've read up on something about new rules dealing with being handicap compliant and such, and wanted to know more. As with licensing, I was wondering what type of license is needed to operate this type of business. I know food is involved, so I figured something along those lines would be required. Any help is appreciated.

  18. Hello everyone. I'm happy to find this forum. I just bought a small full line route over this past week. It consists of 3 machines at two locations near my home. Location#1 - 2 combo soda/snack machines Location#2 - single snack machine I wish I had found this forum prior to jumping into the business but nevertheless I am here now. Bought this primarily to start a small family business and provide an opportunity to learn something. They are 8 and 10, and they have been chomping at the bit to do a lemonade stand but I never thought that was a good idea based on our location. However I didn't want to squash their enterprising instincts and then one day a good friend suggested that I get them a single vending machine as a modern day lemonade stand. Well two weeks ago on a Sunday evening after the early playoff game I started doing a little research into the idea online and I found someone on Craigslist selling a small route right in my backyard. 3 machines is a little more than I wanted to start with but I felt that the opportunity was too good to pass up. We will be making our first service run this upcoming weekend. Feeling anxious and nervous in getting started. I look forward to learning a lot and sharing as we go along.

I'm giving this machine to my kids to manage and help service in hopes that they learn something about the value of a dollar and hardwork
  20. While locating my candy machines I had a request for a snack machine for half the year.. not sure if this is a viable... They only want a machine off hockey season due to the hockey club running the canteen and do not want to cut in to there profits. They have a single pop machine on contract, so no pop. The off season would service lacrosse teams and summer activities. I'm so new to vending and only have a couple location with candy machines BUT have 6-7 months to think about it...and make money on candy to pay for a snack machine... Details on where the machine would site for 6 months out of the year are still unclear and I think with a bill receptor I would be the only snacks in the area off season. Anyone have this kind on agreement? What do you think? Thanks in advance.
