I am looking at getting into the vending business, especially the soda/can business. I started with looking into healthy type vending and then found big soda. Big soda looked way better on ROI. I have been in contact with the big brands and they'll say they will let me place and run their machines and that they will provide and deliver them as well as maintain them, in exchange I have to buy xx+ cases a month per machine, stock the machines and collect the money. Is this a good way to go? At first glance, it was like shoot! I don't have to pay for the machines?! Wahoo! But now I am thinking these things have ups and downs, will I be drowning in soda? I bought 2 sights with big soda owned machines off of a guy and granted it is cold but they are each doing like 2 cases a week, which is below the quota (but it is cold here now) I was told in summer it picks up (makes sense). If you are currently doing this, would you recommend it? All the soda brands in my area say I can put a card reader if I ask them first but they won't include one. What brand of reader/provider do you recommend? Big soda seems to use USA Tech. So in short 2 questions: 1. selling soda with a quota for the big boys is it a good way to start? 2. Card readers, recommendations. I would like a mentor. Thank you for your help! Any advice?
Locating, Commission & Charity: I am looking to start my first bulk vending business and my first route within the next month or two. I have feverishly been reading and gleaning any information I can from anywhere. Mostly here as there is a wealth of information. I also found some great information from a contributor within this discussion board at I have a few questions I have not been able to answer to my satisfaction from all the research I have done. For self locating what do you do? cold calling all locations, drop in/by or mix? How do you determine Charity vs Commission for a location? offer charity first, commission first, only offer one or the other? Have you ever transitioned a site from Charity to Commission? I appreciate all your wisdom and experience with this. And I know that each location is unique but would love any detailed advice (even if you have some example stories). I am looking forward to working hard and doing something new. My apologies if this topic has been asked many times before. I used the search but did not find an answer that matched my question. Although along the way I learned many other things. And Thank you all for teaching and sharing your wisdom.
Greetings, All. I am more than brand new with vending. About 2 weeks ago, I read an ebook on the subject on bulk vending, followed by 3 more. Interested, a couple of days ago I replied to several posts on Craigslist. The first is selling 1 pop and 1 snack machine. Selling for best offer. Second is 2 pop machines and a snack machine with location. Seller financing available. $6900 Third is 6-Double Candy Vending Machines that they want $400 for. V Line Fourth is 2 Silent Sales machines for $150. Fifth is 35 bulk machines for $1500 OBO. And last was a ad for Soda Routes USA. Any comments or suggestions on how to procede?
