sighlent1
Any idea if this could happen with a Beaver Coin Mechanism???
minivend
This may seem like an odd response..I have spent hundreds of hours with the Beaver New Generation Coin mech and am confident that if the Beaver Mech is in good working condition it will NOT free vend like the coin mech you see in the video. The clutch wheel is the key to the Beaver Mech. I can tear one down and put it together with my eyes closed..Best coin mech in the world..For the amount of money I have collected over the years in quarters, I rarely see slugs, tokens, or other foreign items in the cash box. Call me the poster child for Beaver..Hats off to Bernie and his father!
sherlock
I hate thieves. Color it any way you want, that little girl is still a thief. The person recording has a grown woman's hands, too....my guess is she's over 16yrs old (the camera lady). How she allows the little thief to steal AND video record it AND post it online for all to see her steal is a sad reflection on today's society. Thieves and lies I will use the word Hate kid or adult... I'm finding it just part of the job and it's good that u know this can happen
Leetvend
I love how you can see people in the background seeing them do this and thinking to themselves, oh this is a great idea! I could do this! Its kind of sad to see that some people are never taught right from wrong.

This is the society we live in.
lurtsman
Why doesn't youtube have a reporting option for videos that are instructing people in how to commit crime? If they were telling people how to cheat google out of money I'm sure it would be deleted immediately.
sighlent1
It is wrong and totally does screw over the vendor...That sucks....Stealing is wrong and that's something we all can agree upon "Oh my god, and you still have the quarter" -Mom/baby sitter/older sister/whatever.....This quote implies that this 9 yr old is the one who figured this out....I gotta say, that's pretty creative

PerformaVending
Despicable. I went through a lot of these videos, and they are all the same. Kid steals from machines, and then gloat at their accomplishments. It's often equated to "sticking it to the man" or some other rebellious analog. To think this is a "how to" video is all the more concerning. Thank you for sharing this video, this sort of thing affects us all.
JLM Vending
this works on all machines?
bacho
This is what is going to be directing our country in the near future. Hopefully I’ll have moved on to greener pastures when this happens. The country evolved to the digital age and this is to be expected. Nothing is secret anymore. Heck, the government is wanting to shut down certain sites by controlling the internet. If they can do that, which I don’t think they have a chance of doing, you have no privacy and we will be dictated. There will more piracy than you can shake a stick at. It’s something we will have to tolerate now and in the future. Sad, isn’t it?
dperry
I flagged the video. Select Spam > Scams and Fraud. I figure it qualifies as a scan or fraud.
Jax Snacks
Well after watching that, is it any wonder why the police rarely take calls for stolen gumballs machines seriously. Unfortunately, it's the wild west out there in the vending world and we vendors must take the law into our own hands sometimes to deal with issues. Another veteran vendor warned me of this - and he was right on! However in this case, this is simply a case of a broken coin mech and someone took advantage. In my 11 years, I have only had this happen twice with a metal mech. Once with a NW mech and once with a Beaver mech. The "full stoke pin" was broken on the NW mech and it allowed the mech to be turned counter-clockwise. Not sure what it is called on the Beaver mech, but it also turned counter-clockwise freely. But it was a very flukely thing. Metal mechs are still superior to plastic mechs (see below).

JLM Vending
Yes, it even works on Coke, Pepsi, condom and tampon machines. Wow, that's crazy! You just gotta hope that most people wont bother with this. But then anybody can just eat food for free all day long. Go to different snack machines and not spend a dime! musser
Lol, The only way for this too work on the Northwestern S60 is if the coin carrier is broken away from the center of the wheel. Happens once in awile with the drop through mechs. So the coin carrier doesn't move but the handle drives the gear. But it looks like the coin carrier is turning with the handle and wheel, meaning that the coin pawl, washer pawl and anti back up pawl are missing. Hmmm, looks like a fake really. PerformaVending
A fake? That's possible, but unlikely. Why would anyone go to that much trouble to make a fake robbery video on YouTube?

vendsmarts
I had an issue on a location in a company breakroom. I have a triple head there and the wheel on the m&m`s was set wrong. So the people there figured out that all they had to do was move the handle back and forth to get free m&m`s. After filling the head an honest guy that works there pointed it out. So I had to empty the head and set the wheel right.
