FREE STUFF!

Recommended Posts

I have never heard this said as simply or as well. Class warfare at its best.

The folks who are getting the free stuff don't like the folks who are paying for the free stuff, because the folks who are paying for the free stuff can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own stuff.

And, the folks who are paying for the free stuff want the free stuff to stop.

And the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more free stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!

Now... The people who are forcing the people who pay for the free stuff have told the people who are RECEIVING the free stuff that the people who are PAYING for the free stuff are being mean, prejudiced, and racist.

So... The people who are GETTING the free stuff have been convinced they need to hate the people who are paying for the free stuff by the people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff and giving them the free stuff in the first place.

We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than paying for the free stuff.

Now understand this. All great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere between 200 and 250years after being founded. The reason?

The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.

The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 236years ago. The number of people now getting free stuff out numbers the people paying for the free stuff. We have one chance to change that in 2012. Failure to change that could spell the end of the United States as we know it.

ELECTION 2012 IS COMING. Get Registered and exercise your right to vote.

How ambiguous can you get? "Vote for the right person so you won't loose the stuff you already got!" Who's the right person? Opinions vary.

Your absolutely right, opinions do vary.

For me its cut spending not raise taxes. Scott Walker, the Wisconsin governor that handily beat the recall attempt, is a rising star. He was elected saying he was going to do it, then actually he did it, and then beat a recall attempt by a higher margin than he was elected by.

Here is an interesting study by the American Enterprise Institute, its a dry 31 pages but worth perusing. The end result is that when accounting for the cost of benefits and pensions public section employees received better compensation than their comparable private sector counterparts BEFORE and AFTER Act 10 was passed. All they did was narrow the gap.

A political discussion? Oh boy!

Giggity!

Just want to mention that so many people focus on the President, but there is also the House and Senate. (And the Supreme Court.) How powerful a President is, is based on the makeup of Congress, and really where each person's loyalties lie.

The change of one person altered how the Health Care bill turned out, and took away his filibuster proof supermajority in the Senate.

Similarly, Bush (jr.) was never a strong President, because of the makeup of Congress, and in 2006 effectively became a "Lame Duck President". Clinton was in a similar situation with the Republican takeover of Congress in 1994.

People often look to the President to praise, or blame for the budgets, but the President's budget is really only a suggestion, and the House is able to effectively ignore the whole thing. Although the President can veto the whole thing, assuming there weren't enough votes to override a veto.
