sherlock Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Got to get in locating mode again, seems to all come at once! got to love the ups and downs in this business That's right. Just get to locating again. I have no explanation for it, but I do agree 100%...the kickouts/losses do come in bunches. It's very cyclical and seems you can never expect to lose just one machine/location and then move on. BUT, I've also learned that, in business, the positive things come in bunches, too. So keep working, don't get too down, AND most of all, MAKE YOUR OWN GOOD LUCK by working hard.
kandyking Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 I lost 2 on this cycle as well and pulled an additional 3 that were under performing. It comes with the territory and, just like that, they will be relocated in hopefully more profitable spots. The owner of the bar said a friend of his was getting a machine and the other was without explanation or apology and just wanted it gone. I made sure they were thanked for allowing us there as long as they have and left a card in case they had a change of heart. It is all part of the cycle of life. You just have to make sure that at the end of any given week/month/year, you have grown more than you were forced to shrink. On the up side, I just got my hands on another 85 - 1800 vending triples for $40 a pop and am ready to fill in my existing routes to maximize their efficiency. Sweetstop, on a side note, I love those gumball advice labels you did for me. They really pop and I think the gimmick may aid in sales. Time will tell on that but I love the look of them none-the-less.
lowcountry Dan Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 I have lost quite a few locations this year, but I am getting some new ones now, and most of them are good. I suppose one way to look at it, is you can find even better locations than the ones you had. It may very well work out that way. It does suck to lose locations though. Best of luck.
Sieger179 Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 i just placed a new machine on Thursday via the manager of a days inn, only to get a call on Friday saying the owner didn't want it there. overly controlling owner i guess. the 3 head machine did $1.50 total in just 1 day. i was pissed.
