So, after buying a decent quantity of used tripleheads (go read my blog ), I placed 6 machines today, my first ones ever since becoming interested in this business. Some of the locations seem like they may have potential, however most (I think 4/6) already had a different candy machine in there as well.

My question to all you out there is, what percentage of your locations have at least 1 machine in addition to yours?

Right now zero, but it wouldn't bother me if they did, because as long as you keep your machine clean stocked with different product than the others [ some times that is hard to do], always talk to the proprietor [ whats his needs, maybe see if he'll let you set different mach,. in general just be nice and friendly and most importantly act like or be very knowledgable about your business. With this you might get ahead of the rest. Good luck

Thanks for the insight. I was not really worried, because I was meticulous about the appearance of my machines before placement, and can proudly say that mine looked significantly better than the competition machines (even though mine are vendstars!). On top of that, most of the others in the locations were double with gumballs and tabbed gum.... 3 of the 6 locations actually commented on how mine had a significantly better selection. I gave each location my phone number and spent a few minutes making small talk, so I think it went very well.

Just wasn't sure if its that common to have competition like that typically.
