Lottery vending to boost sales?

Well I got my first set of new machines a few weeks ago, and have been excited at all these new possibilities. I noticed that my vendo snack machine has a lottery vend option,l where you can set it to release a free vend every x number of sales. I was thinking of trying this out in one of my snack rooms and advertising this. I could imagine this would be an especially good location for trying it out, since if you saw 2-3 people get a product and pay for it, then you know the free vend is coming closer! Any thoughts?

Gee Mike,

I got a couple of Vendos that do that but I doubt it's due to any special setting.

Around here, anything that even resembles gambling is controlled by either the State or the Indians (native americans) - all kinds of Indians .... Indians nobody's ever heard of .... Indians that don't even look like Indians. Casinos everywhere. The whole place is turning into a "poor man's" Vegas.

Over here Lottery Vend is called Shake the Machine & see what comes out!

I have never tried it personally but I could see the advantages of doing it to try to increase sales. We have a lot of companies here that run there own "free" giveaways. For an example snickers are doing a promo where people 1 in 6 bars will win a "free" bar on the inside of the wrapper. We then redeem this wrapper with our supplier so that its doesn't cost us anything..

This is why I bolt my machines to the wall!!!

That don't stop some people here.. we have some BIG Island boys over here! I have seen the results where one guy shock the machine so hard that he pushed it straight thru the wall.. lucky no one was sitting at the desk on the other side of the wall at the time!

I usually bolt my machine's together (Drink to Snack to Frozen) but have found the best way to stop them was to hire my 7 foot tall brother in-law to work for me. He tells people if they shake the machine that he will shake them! Never had any problems with people shaking the machines after that!
