How to move a large Beaver vending rack.

Lake Cities Vending

Recommended Posts

I bought a rack at an auction today. It has 6 Beaver NB50 on top and 8 Round Beavers on the bottom. I bought it at a auction so I didn't get any keys. Any ideas on how I will be able to move this setup? It has to be around 6 feet wide and its tall. I'm looking at renting a truck maybe. I wish I could take it apart and move it in my truck.

"Take it apart"...how? The original poster has no keys!!

I am assuming drilling the locks at your pick-up location is not an option.

Otherwise, "take it apart:" makes sense.

If you can't drill the locks at the time you pick up the rack, then I recommend a trailer and at least one other person to help load/unload.

The RIGHT trailer will allow you to not have to lift the rack all the way onto the bed of a truck since the trailer will sit lower.

AND it will let you lay the rack on it's back.

You don't want to transport that rack standing up unless you strap the heck out of it...it's awfully top heavy.

Do not rush and drill the locks beaver locks are hard to drill and your looking at 400 plus in locks and hard wear. If you think they are beaver factory locks and you know about where in the country the vendor was from then partner with others in that area and try their key codes. Beaver sends the same codes to the same regions of the country. To move it you need a truck with a lift gate

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but I wonder how nuch it woold take to fill just the NB50's with gumballs

If it takes 2 cases to fill a section, and there are 24 sections, then that is 48 cases and assuming a cost of 20 bucks a case, thats $960 just in product...

I operate 90% Beaver and I could never understand why someone would need a NB50 thats just way to much inventory.

I would tell you to try to locate the person who sold you the machines so you could get info. on where the machine came from like Have said Beaver gives out keys based on regions.Good Luck

I could tell you from experience drilling out Beaver locks is no fun.

I won it for $417.00. I have thought about laying it down on a trailer. My first thought was to take it apart but without keys I'm not sure. I am going over there today and look the situation over. I wanted the small machines. I may cut down some of the tall ones and sell what I don't want.

I am not familiar with the rack there setting on but couldn't you disassemble the rack down to two levels [ one for the big ones and one for the smaller ones]. I believe that would be easier to handle. Just an idea????

I din't make it over there Friday, they close at 4:00. Called them and they are closed Saturday. So I can't get to inspect machines until Monday morning.

Is it possible to get one of the lids off and send to a locksmith that knows vending locks? Maybe even to Beaver? Surely someone knows how to make a key for these machines. I think it might be cheaper than drilling all the locks and buying new locks. Anybody know of anyone?

The machines are not where I live so I don't know for sure if they are locked or missing keys. One of the small Beavers looks like the lock is sticking up on top. I know I couldn't be lucky enough for the keys to be taped some where on the machine. This is a restaurant auction business.

Interesting problem. I agree with indianvending, in the long run its probably better it's tough to move.

I'd ultimately cut the towers down, I think.

I just picked up a rack I won at auction today, the fact there were keys for all machines was important to me and I only bid on racks/machines with keys!

Good Luck...

Let me know if its a flat key or round I might be able to help you out

Both capsule and round machines have a flat key. The front lock on capsule machines takes a round key. I have a S57 and S97 flat key, they don't work. The round key is different than my round keys, the peg on the outside and inside are 90 degrees from each other. Mine are both inline. All the front locks are like that.

Machines laying in my garage on the floor. Time to start taking them apart. It wasn't to hard getting them out of the trailer by myself. I just inched them out one side then the other until I had them almost out. I had 2 furniture dollies and just before they dropped.I put the dollies under them and lowered them down. Once I had both side down I just rolled them into the garage.

I do have one lock out. One machines wasn't locked, it had the lock taped in the socket. That is the machine thats missing, I put it in my truck. So I have 1 lock that I can send off to somebody to try and fit a key. Looking for a locksmith that can do Beaver locks.
