Saeco 7P

Hi

I have a Saeco 7P coffee machine. 7 selections. The "water empty" light is red. My machine is hooked up to a direct water line. I don't have a water tank. When I try to rince the tubes, there's water. It's not the filter because I tried to hook up the machine directly to the water line and it still has a red light. Whatelse can I check?

I also would like to know what size of cups this machine takes. I use the 10 oz cups but I am not sure it's the right size. Can the amount of coffee be adjusted to the size of cup I want to use?

Thank you

From the manual

"“Water out” - Red LED on: water is empty and all selection buttons are disabled. Refill the tank and

keeping the reset switch ( 8 ) pushed, press the rinse switch (10) until water readily flows from the

dispenser lines. Now the LED is off and the unit is ready to work again"

Depending on the exact unit the reset switch is a button on the small circuit board (the rinse switch is either a second button on the same board or a small lever style switch on the right of the board).

The settings can be changed for amount, but I have no idea how to do that, I just leave mine alone.

Physical cup size is more important for this machine as it cannot handle wide cups in the dispenser tubes, or tall cups under the product delivery spout. I'm pretty sure the default cup is 7oz - I use 8oz cups and they are 3/4 full by looking at them.

Thank you for your reply. I don't have a water tank. I am connected directly to the water line. But I'll try the reset and rinse and see.

As for the size of cups, I don't use the dispenser of cups but I use a 10oz cups and I had it adjusted to a full cup. No wonder why people complain. It's not strong enough compared to an 8 oz cup.

Please let me know if you have other suggestions for the water since I am connected directly to the water line.

Also, which manual are you reading from? May I get a link to this manual and download it?

Thank you again

DA7P version is at http://www.ifyoulovecoffee.com/Manuals/Saeco/DA7P_ENG.pdf

DA7P+ version is at http://www.partsguru.com/user/DA7PPLUS%20manual.pdf

There should be no difference between 'refill the water tank' and 'ensure plumbed water line is connected and turned on' as far as the reset procedure goes.

You can still use a 10 oz cup, but will need to alter the coffee grind and the length of time the coffee has water passed through it. Guess that's a trial and error thing.

Good Luck

I think you definitely have water going to the machine if you are able to prime it but you also need to hold the reset button while doing this until the "red" led light goes out like falls has suggested.

As for using 10oz cups you will need to increase the amount of coffee you are throwing into each cup. I don't know what the maximum throw on a Saeco 7p is but I doubt it would be enough to handle using a 10oz on coffee based drinks.

Another option for you depending on if you have this machine on "free vend" or "charge" is to use your espresso button as an extra shot (double shot) option.

What I mean by this is.. if someone vends a coffee based drink they can also add an espresso into it effectively making it a double shot. You will have no issue using 10oz on none coffee based drinks like hot chocolate as you only need to increase the of chocolate & water going into the cup.

Thank you for the reply. I tried the reset solution and it didn't work. My machine is the attached file. The reset and rinse buttons are on the front pannel of the machine. When I rinse, I get water and it's hot. I held the reset and rinse button for like 1 min a few times but didn't work. Any other suggestions?

As for adjusting the coffee grind going into the cup when using a 10 oz cup, I had called a technician once but he told me he can increase the amount of water but not the amount of coffee. Not sure now if this is true.

Thank you

  • 4 months later...

Maurlek, any luck on your post and to resolving your issue?  I am having the exact same problem and cannot remedy it.  If I hold both buttons down (starting with the reset button) and then the rinse button - the machine does not do anything - AARGGHHH!!!  I have tried for hours to resolve....
