Billnuts
while I was there today picking up a toy taxi I got a chance to check out black out redemption game I can usually spot a winner and that got everything to keep them playing the screen is cool and they changed the door to T handle and holds 3 major and 6-9 small prizes they are adding a prize sensor in the new models I am seriously considering this unit anyone have one yet or hear anything? bill
sherlock
That game looks addicting...which is the highest compliment I could pay a redemption game. I like it. It would have been nice if they had shown a player actually win in the vid. Although, a $6575 price tag "on sale" is high IMO....and NO, I didn't forget to add any decimals on that price. ronsidney
I likeed that blackout at show,,they said that screen was just lcd that didnt have back so you could see through it.. problems i seen... very obvious you are not in control,,the autopercentage to make sure you dont give out too much is not so good... Its hard to get this right with video i think. i tried to win,put finger in same spot and same stroke to win and it would go all over the place,,i played it for while as i was looking for unit like that.. ron

I don't think that includes a DBA.

Kids of all ages love the challenge of a game that's difficult to master...and they get bored if the game is too easy. Just look at PS3/XBOX games as an example. IMO it's the lack of accuracy in the controls that would ruin the chances for success of any redemption game. I have not played Blackout, so my comments are for redemption games in general. If the controls are not accurately responsive, people will consider the game a rip-off and you can forget about your customers playing multiple times. And in redemption, multi-plays is where the money is at. But, it would only take one play for most players to notice a lack of accuracy in controls and consider a game a "rip-off"...and they will not only quit (which is bad), they'll be sure to tell anyone who will listen that the game is a "rip-off" too (which is worse). ronsidney
thats what i said, our not in control with black out..game looks great and will get a first play, repeat plays not so much.. the controls have to make you think "OH i almost got it, i just need to move more to the left next time"..but when i played the blackout i would hit to the left like i did to the right and it would go to the right again, like i was really just watching a video and not influencing outcome with my aim. I love how the barber cut really makes you think you "almost got it"and gets repeat play..I think a perfect game would have the barber cut type play but last longer,,the barber cut is way too fast and expensive ,i think that is why it slowed down so much...but if it was a "barber cut extreme second chance" and you had two levels for accuracy,, like a "nudge" for a extra credit per say.. You played it, and when you let go of button when it was when the razor closed it would flash and say "Are you sure???" " insert another credit for a nudge forward" and then you could insert credit and get to move forward again ,,then it would prompt you again "Are you sure?" and you could do it one more time again..2 times max. the outcome would still be the same but it would slow game down and get extra money for one play.. The thing i dont like when playing barbercut was that i would get so close the first time and then i couldnt get all motions again and i would get frustrated and quit, but i always thought " I almost got it" and blamed myself rather than machine and that there is what makes a good redemption game. I know barbercut is old now,but i still liked the gameplay my self better than the push in hole games like keymaster and winners cube .. but its not what i like, its what my customers like.
