VFVending
Hello All, It is a pleasure to be apart of this forum. Reading through some of the posts, I've learned alot. I discovered while feeding my newborn duaghter about two weeks ago. I was in search of a part-time job to supplement my wifes lost income. I found some full-line vending routes in the area. I found this forum while seaching for information on the vending industry. My goals include to create an LLC in order to display a Tax ID # on each machine as required by state law. I am not sure which machines I will be purchasing yet. I will be vending both toys and candy, so any opinions on machines would be greatly appreciated. I must also do some research on Charity/Commission Vending. Any advice in this area would also be appreciated. Thanks, Rollie
indiana
It's great that you're starting out with such straightforward, measurable goals. That's the way to do it. A note on your LLC goal--I would definitely recommend a single-member (pass-through) LLC, which is "disregarded" by the IRS for tax purposes, which means you can simply file business income on a schedule c as though your business is a sole proprietorship. Or, just file a sole prop/ assumed name with your state. You can apply for a FEIN with ether a single-member LLC or an assumed name.
VFVending
Thanks IV. I searched for a sole prop w/an assumed name and found out I can register a fictitious name (DBA) for about $75 less than n LLC Frankly I would have perferred assumed name instead. Fictitious name just sounds wrong. I wonder how many Muckety Mucks it took to figure that one out?
floridavending
Your food units need to have a label on them that states: NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS: FLORIDA LAW REQUIRES THIS NOTICE TO BE POSTED ON ALL FOOD AND BEVERAGE VENDING MACHINES. Report any machine without a notice to 1-800-352-9273. You may be eligible for a CASH REWARD. DO NOT USE THIS NUMBER TO REPORT PROBLEMS WITH THE VENDING MACHINE SUCH AS LOST MONEY OR OUT-OF-DATE PRODUCTS. ----------------- I think there's a potential fine of up to $250/unit that doesn't have this notice.. Priusjames
DO NOT USE THIS NUMBER TO REPORT PROBLEMS WITH THE VENDING MACHINE SUCH AS LOST MONEY OR OUT-OF-DATE PRODUCTS. ----------------- This label has "call this number for refunds" written all over it, if it were on machines around here, regardless of what it says!! If there's a phone number, people will call it without reading the words around it...amiright?

SeaTurtle Vending
Ok. Here you go. If you have bulk machines in the state of Florida. Charitable organizations – Food and drinks sold for 25 cents or less through a coin-operated vending machine maintained by a charitable organization qualified under sections 501©(3) or 501©(4), Internal Revenue Code, are exempt. From the sales and use tax information page from the state of FL. http://dor.myflorida.com/dor/forms/2011/gt800041.pdf
