blmgrizzly
I joined the forum yesterday, and thought I would give a more formal introduction. My name is Brad, and I am running a bulk candy business on the side of my full time hospital job. I never thought to look for a forum online, and would like to say thank you to everyone who has contributed to this site. I am at 11 Machines total, and I have to say that after siphoning through endless threads I am very amazed and thankful for everyones knowledge, experience, and advice i have run accross. I thought I was getting the hang of this whole sha-bang, but i clearly feel like a rookie again LOL. The major thing I have been focusing on is picking up used machines, painting them up, and in potential high traffic areas air-brushing different designs to attract customers. In which a few have their company logo's. I have run accross posts regarding places people have made killings on, and I wanted to add another suggestion that has worked for me. Tattoo shops have been one of the most successful so far, averaging a high of $70-$80 dollars a month with 3 heads. One question I have to ask, Would it be a good idea to sell bouncy balls through a spiral gumball machine? I am still working towards getting racks started, and would like to start selling some toys. I took a bunch of machines off a former vendor that needed space, including 25 candy machines and a spiral gumball and 4 huge boxes of parts, and actually for only $25! Again cant thank you all enough, everyone seems very helpful. I Look forward to learning from everybody's experience\ and tips!

Priusjames
Welcome! East Washington, or West? Just nosy...my family all migrated to Spokane, so I'm in that area a couple times a year. I'm dabbling in different vending media until I find my niche, and am learning as much as I can along the way. This is a great resource for beginners, for sure. There's some helpful stuff in the downloads section, too James

It works but two big disadvantages; 1- You have to use at least 4 bags of 250ct. balls just to fill little over half way and 2- Some kids thought they were gumballs and put in their mouth. Make sure you clearly label. I think you could get the same amount of sales with a single head of bouncy balls.

blmgrizzly
I am out of southern washington, Vancouver area. Thanks for the feedback on the machines i posted. And I think your right allsnax, a choking hazard would be an issue. I may just pull one of my low performing products out of a machine and trial them for a month and see how they do. I am guessing that a standard gumball wheel should work fine with a regular single head?

rfountain
Fellow Texan here. New to the forum and vending. Started out good, I think, by buying almost 60 vendesign and Ashland triples for about $450, including Uhaul rental and gas! Made up my mind last week, after dealing with a bunch of nutcases on Scabslist and screwing with Ebay's ourtrageous fees and commissions, to place the machines and am going through a Houston based locator by the name of Eddie Bauer. Anyone on here in Texas or other parts of the country have any experience with him at all? Thanks. Roger
