*Jessica*
Hello, I know a lot of people here say that contracts are not worth the paper they are written on, etc. That being said, if I go into a Location and they tell me something along the lines of "I have a contract with another vendor", what can I tell them as far as how "valid" the other vendors "contract" is so that I can get my machines in there too? GagesVending
The only time you'll hear that is if it's a large company or some sort of corporate franchise. Your typical Mexican/Chinese restaurant or wherever that's family owned isn't going to mention a contract. I've been asked if I had insurance once. That's it. Most don't think it through that much, it's usually either yes or no. They will usually say something like "We don't have room" if they aren't interested. I wouldn't worry about contracts because even if they have a big operator in the location already that you are pitching, they more than likely aren't contracted either. Just be confident and sell them on your nice machines and great service and more than likely they won't have a problem with it, if they are open to the whole candy machine idea. I actually have two chain pizza locations and I got them through a buy-out, so I don't know how they were placed, but that company didn't have a problem with it. It's called Figaro's Pizza, in case you have them in your area. Also: some companies have "Franchisees" and some have "Corporate" stores. Franchises are owned by the franchisee, so you have better chances of getting into those, rather than corporate.
dogcow
just explain even with a contract is has to be enfoced, ask them if they think the machine makes enough money the existing vendor is gonna want to pay $100+/hrr to a lawyer to take them to court over a few gumball machines, also most contracts do not state where the equipment has to be placed,if they are so concerned just let them leave the machines in a broom closet until the contract expires, trust me the owners will pick them up on the next service cycle. for my amusement games some times i use contracts sometimes i dont what rreally matters is, if the loc ownerr seems greedy i will use a contract just so i have their agreement on paper to the commission % in case they try to tell me they agreed to a large % have had it happen before.
