M&M Peanut butter

Back to the original question, has anybody had any success with these? I have a location that used to sell Reese's Pieces like crazy but it has slowed down. I'm thinking about giving PB M&Ms a try.

I don't know if I've seen any increased success with these over Reese's Pieces, but I picked up several big bags of red/white Peanut Butter M&Ms after Valentines' Day at a good deal, and they've been selling just as well.

They are really good! But I dont know about vending. They dont hold up very well, I think its because there is a layer of chocolate between the coating and the center. Reeces hold up better. I suppose if you keep them always chilled they would be ok. I know that some places save energy by cutting back the ac in off hours and these mm peanut butter dont do well in anythink but cool ac.

It is never best to assume.  I vend at .25 cents, I do not pay commission.

Wow! That makes your COG like .14-.15! After 25% commission only .04-.05/ vend is left over!
Do you vend at .50?

It is never best to assume. I vend at .25 cents, I do not pay commission.

Your right! There was not assumption in my statement. But an example and a question.

It's still true to say that .14-.15/vend COG is high! And that only leaves .10-.11/vend with no commission.

That's allright. We will just wait around for your machines to be put on the classified section when you have had enough of not making the bigger bucks some of us are getting. Tick. Tick. Tick.

I wasn't trying to be condescending, or presumptuous. I was simply interested in his business model and was only asking if he was vending at a higher cost.

The items that I vend are GB's, Skittles, Peanut M&M'S, and BB's. My average COG is .054 per vend. I also feel that the cost of PMM's at the cost of .08 for 5 pieces or .5oz is high at 32% COG. Yes they are a decent seller therefore I do sell them. However if Peanut Butter M&M's COG for 7 or 8 pieces is .14-.15 that's 56-60%.

Everyone on the forum would agree that there are ever increasing smaller profit margins in this business and every penny counts.

Peanut Butter M&M's would have to sell 2 to 1 compared to PMM's to make the same profit as selling PMM's instead. I could be wrong but I don't feel that there is that much demand for them.

We are all see things differently. However I am part of this forum because we all help and encourage each other, not criticize people.

Treadmill my machines won't be in the classified section for quite sometime, I am rapidly growing and enjoy the profits that I am making. I was always told it doesn't hurt to ask questions, I am a mathematical person so if I use numbers to help me explain or to help someone to answer my question, I am not being critical in doing so.

Have a Great Day!

All I know is Peanut butter MMS are damn good, and you don't see em in vending machines where i live that often.  Might be a draw for some of those almost customers.  Let us know how it works out, and how they hold up over time. What about MM pretzels? those are actually really good too..but not sure if they would be as popular.

Yes, I counted it, and you make your money back times two.  I pay around $10 a bag and make $30.00- $30.50 vending 7-8 each vend.

I have also vended the M&M Pretzels.  Those were a great seller for me but I had to discontinue.  They did NOT vend well!  The shells cracked off, making the candy not appealing.

As long as your happy is all that ultimately matters.

Apples to Apples comparison......

On avg each PMM weighs .1 oz per M&M

56oz bag of Peanut Butter M&M's $10

Vending 8 PBM&M's per quarter would equal 70 vends per bag or $17.50 in quarters

Since you made $30.00 in quarters that means you sold 2 bags of product.

$30.00 net sales minus $20.00 product cost = $10.00 profit and 66.7% COG

The serving size for PMM's is .5 oz

Therefore I vend 5 PMM's per quarter.

Vending 5 PMM's per quarter equals 112 vends per bag or $28.00 in quarters.

In the same scenario I would have sold just over one bag.

$30.00 in sales minus $10.71 product cost = $19.29 in profit and 36% COG

The second scenario brings in twice as much product for 1/2 the amount of product.

You have to look at the big picture!

I hope this helps. But again we all run our business's differently so what ever your happy with is what counts, but you have to look at the numbers.

No, this is from 1 bag.  I physically counted it, 1 by 1.
