NBVA Expo for a new guy?

Hey everyone. I've been lurking for a while, reading thousands of posts and trying to decide if I should make the plunge into bulk vending. Appreciate all the wisdom shared here. Incredibly valuable. I am wondering if you all could tell me how valuable it would be for me to attend the NBVA expo next week in Vegas. I still have a lot of questions about what kinds of machines and products I'd like to vend. Recently have been looking into the Chicken machines, and am intrigued about them, due to the higher likelihood a business owner will want one on their premises because of the uniqueness, etc. and the fact that they seem to generate good income per machine. So...I'm wondering if at this stage I should head out to the NBVA expo and have the chance to first hand see all these machines and maybe get some special pricing if I order at the show? Or would it be a waste of my time and money to attend?

I don't see how it would hurt if you are already in the area. I am going for the first time this year so I am hoping it will be worth the expense and time.

If anything you may get too much input and end up making it more complicated than it should be. Also, pure bulk vending has a pretty small foot print at this show compared to all the different amusement offerings so be sure to focus your attention. It probably won't be too difficult to talk yourself into trying all the cool and expensive stuff that will be there.

I'm not in the Vegas area but can use some fee air miles to get there. Are the vendors offering special rates on machines there? Rates that I couldn't get otherwise?

Thanks

Ransom, the NBVA show is a great way to see many different types machines and products in one spot and to meet suppliers. You can also meet and network with hundreds of other bulk vendors. It can be an invaluable experience. As a supplier, I would recommend attending the show at least once. Come say hi at booth #1039 if you decide to attend!

Going to the show is a great way to network with others and see all the products offered by suppliers. Parsal will not be there this year but you can give them a call and im sure they will be more that happy to talk to you. Going to the show may not save you money after travel unless you are buying alot of product. Trying the chicken machine is a good option for you because of the ease of placment and atractive sales volume. And you can stock just one product and not several.

A member here told me that they took the flyer to a couple of busy places and got a yes at both.

I highly recommend attending the NBVA 2013 show because it's a great way to network and learn from other operators. I also enjoying speaking to the suppliers in person and learning what's new in the industry.

Thanks everyone! i am still not clear on whether I will get special deals at the show that would in one sense justify the expense and time of going. I think the networking and learning opportunity would be fantastic, but I'd love to know if vendors offer great "show deals".

Suppliers do offer show specials for orders placed at the show.

But at a buck or two a bag discount he would have to buy a couple pallets to cover show cost lol. I think that's what he's after

A $1-2/bag discount is pretty darn good. I have a feeling I am going to spend a lot of money next week.
