mission vending
I'm sure we have all had conversations about going "all digital", well here is a interesting take on the subject.... http://www.flixxy.com/the-paperless-future-emma.htm#.UUjh5FeGOKK

shepherdsflock
I haven't had a chance yet to watch the video that mission linked, but I take the movement toward coinless and paperless economies seriously. The whole world economy is a mess right now and it's inevitable that the economic models that we've traditionally held to will give way to new ones and I believe that part of that will involve getting rid of hard currency. I dread the idea because it not only means that my currency operated machines will become obsolete or in need of expensive retrofitting, but also because it necessitates an enormous amount of regulatory invasion into the lives of everybody. What we just saw with Cyprus, their effort to freeze all bank accounts (public and private) and impose an involuntary tax on all money, is the crest of a very steep and slippery slope. Although their government ultimately thwarted the effort, the fact that it was tried sets a frightening precedent. That such a thing would even be tried should make your hair stand on end. Do you wake up this cheery or is this something you have to work at? The only other thing i will add is "Paper does not break" and you have to reach in my pocket to steal it. Ok I admit it i am a dinosaur
shepherdsflock
Do you wake up this cheery or is this something you have to work at? No, I don't wake up this cheery; it took a colossal effort on my part to make that post as positive and inspiring as it was. I'm glad I had the chance to bring a little sunshine to your day! shepherdsflock
I'll watch it when I get home tonight. I'm guessing it has nothing at all to do with my post; I just wanted to add my opinion about the whole idea of paperless economy.
