rnl828
I have a contract that I am pursuing, and have been for 2 years. I have no experience with "BIB" but the contractor will assume all responsibilities for beverages which includes vending, and dining. Can someone review the volume for last year and place a valuation on it for me. I also have a price range for the BIB mix which will be attached. My goal is to offer commission which is required but I don't want to under cut myself or spend to much. Since I have no experience I don't know how to quantify the bib and the gross. Since it is a pretty large venue they charge for meal plans but I still can't understand how I would charge or make money(BIB not soda machines). I am totally lost and need some guidance. PS the proposal is due Thursday. This information was just mailed to me. Thanks a lot.
AZVendor
The only thing I can suggest to you is to contact your local Coke bottler and ask the question of how many average size drinks (your potential average size) can be made from one 3 gal bag. From that you can extrapolate the cost of each average serving. If this contract includes self service soda fountains then you need to err on the side of at least one refill per meal, I would think. The cafeteria contractors already have this experience and that's how they have an advantage. I hate to say it but it sounds like you are way behind the 8 ball here. This sounds like you're doing research that should have been done long ago. I'm all in favor of you winning this contract because I have seen my share of piss poor cafeteria operators. I'm also rooting for the little guy. Good luck with this and let us know how it goes.
rnl828
Hey the place was late getting the information to me that's the only reason I was pushing for time. It's not a walk in type of deal. All questions are answered on a public forum and it takes a while. I did take your advice and contacted my coca cola rep and got everything squared away. Now the countdown begins. rnl828
I will. It can take up to 180 days so it's a real pain.
