shepherdsflock
I have a question for the Oak owners. I just acquired some Oak Vistas and want to vend 1" toys from them. Most of them come with candy wheels, but a few of them are coming with gumball wheels. Can the heads equipped with gumball wheels vend 1" capsules without any modification? Toad
Not reliably, just buy the correct wheels and save yourself service calls (and time and money)
shepherdsflock
Not reliably, just buy the correct wheels and save yourself service calls (and time and money) Okay, that's the answer I needed. I wasn't sure if Oaks use the same wheel for gumballs and capsules or if you need a different wheel for each product type. Thanks! By the way, is the inverse true? Will a toy wheel not vend gumballs reliably?
BorderJerry
You use a capsule wheel with riser for gumballs and 27mm balls, and remove the riser to vend the small capsuled toys.

sherlock
What borderjerry said. There is no seperate wheel for 1" compared to the wheel you use for 850ct gb. You use the same wheel for 850gb and 27mm bb that you use for 1" caps or 32mm bb. The only difference is the "pacman" riser under the wheel. If you have an Oak Vista wheel that vends the 850ct gb then there should be a riser below that wheel. Just unscrew the globe, lift the wheel, and remove the riser (the thing that looks like pacman)...replace the wheel and screw the globe back in and you are done! That's how you convert the Oak Vista from vending 27bb/850ct gb to vending 1" cap/32mm bb. And replacing the pacman converts it the opposite way. It's super simple. I do it regularly on location. shepherdsflock
Do you need .50 mecks and one inch wheels? Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2 Yes, I will. I'll need at least three, maybe four if I can get this rack into the same location I have another rack I'm placing that will be all candy. I'm going to try to convince the location to let me try a toy rack. They asked for candy only and I'm placing it this Saturday. I'm hoping I can convince them to let me try some toys. I've been selling a ton of candy there every month, I'm sure toys would just about fly out of the machines if I can get them in there.

Instead, provide good service/product for a couple of cycles and then bring up replacing 1 or 2 candy globes on the existing rack with toys. You will have developed more of a relationship with them at that point and have provided them some money via commission to up your bargaining power. If/when you see the 1 or 2 globes of toys doing well and paid another cycle or two of commission, you will now have upped your bargaining power even further. At that point then you can request bringing in a 2nd rack and you'll have the freedom of doing candy and/or toys on it since you already have a rack doing both in the location. Now, if the location owner is NOT hard set against toys, just a little cold to the idea, here are some other options: Some will grease a palm or two to get the 2nd rack in there from the get-go. Others will hard-sell the 2nd rack when they arrive to deliver the 1st rack (taking the 2nd rack w/toys already ready-to-go with them into the eatery to show the owner). And still others, will offer a higher commission and state the higher offer is ONLY IF the toy rack be allowed with the candy rack. None of these are "wrong" options. It's what your personality lends itself to AND how you read the owner's attitude.
