Asd/Amoa/Nbva show Pictures

Good times! Kinda shocked to see that the egg machine that everybody is so excited about is so small and so expensive! Oak manufacturing and ok manufacturing were not there. I haven't been to a NBVA/amoa in ten years and I'm very sad too how our industry is dying. Of course there is still money to be made, it's certainly a entire new set of rules and lowered expectations. The best part was being able to network with the other vendors , compare notes and learn from them

The new chicken was build as a new version of the ones from years past. The ones from years past were not giant so why would this one be. That would be like making a new version of a two inch cap machine and wanting it to be much larger. Taking into account for inflation I bet the new one is cheaper.

SSM has a new upgrade of their Laser tat line coming out in a few months. Should pre-order as the first shipment is going fast...looks very nice.

Also the para-cord bracelets in 2" caps will be available soon. Impulse had the most aggressive discounts on the bulk side, 1" caps from $12 and up...new erasers for 1"...one called 'Go Bananas' is a nice monkey mix for 50 cent 1".

Another missing (besides Parsal) from the show was Oak...first time in many decades, I would think...we might be hearing of new ownership soon?

The show special price on DB 850 ct gumballs (full pallet price) was 16.7% higher than last year. At that rate of increase, prices will double every 4 years and 3 months or so.

I don't doubt it, but was the first time I saw anything near it to compare scale. Either that or GBOkc is huge.

That is Ronnie checking out the Chicken. It would have looked much bigger with Glen next to it.

Was it SSM the one with the bracelets? I remember the days when there was lots of new products at the show

Yes, SSM. They had a few other new items coming out too...I just can't remember them and still have not unpacked the van as we stopped in Phoenix and picked up an order from them yesterday morning. Van is also stuffed with floor samples of plush and stuff for cranes from ASD show floors. We only spent a couple of hours on the NBVA / AMOA floor as we had a lot of meetings and only had one half day for that show.

I beat you Glen, we had not been to a NBVA show since San Diego in '98. Did go to the AMOA back in 07, and a few ASD shows as an excuse to visit NYC...

I drove out to LA last october for my kids fall break to visit family and i wanted to go to Oak and check it out as I have never had a chance on other trips to LA ..I called them and they said they where relocating to another warehouse or something but told me i could not stop by!! I said "Hey i know i haven't bought machines in a while but i used to order them by the pallet several years ago and i still have hundreds on location." really peed me off they wouldn't let me stop by..a&a rolled out the red carpet for us to tour in the past, i expected more from oak but if they are on the ropes or changing ownership that makes sense now.

It is a cute machine.. funny thing i thought was the name though.."All American Chicken machine" and the machine is built in china and all the products etc are made in china that it sells..

I think its got a niche as i still have people asking me for egg machines because the old ones are broken etc and disappeared..And a "niche" is all it takes for a newcomer operator to slip into your spots with a new machine..I bought cranes from that manufacturer years ago and they where only about 400 for a 24" wide,52" tall crane..I think its very overpriced at that biz op booth we stopped by,,I would think $800 max retail my self would be fair price for what i seen. but of course if you sell 10 machines and make 1000 profit its the same as selling 100 machines with 100 profit and a whole lot less calls for broken chinese parts..

c2c had a version at show i think was cheaper,,had a big monkey in it and it looked good also..Im sure both of these machines are gonna be everywhere over the next few years.

The c2c is also 1500 unless they had a show deal. I have not seen the monkey in person but looks kinda scary on the website. I to wish that the government would make it more attractive for American companies to make products here.

So if was to build one in america how many of you guys would buy them??? I could produce that machine easily enough..I think i might,,itll take me a few weeks for a prototype..

how important is the bill validator?? i would prefer to be able to vend 4" caps or the 2" caps and eggs,,would be easy to make wheel changeable to both from what i seen.. I have all of my pcb boards built in minnesota as i dont like chinese boards so that would take a minute to get mocked up and produced..

I have thought about it for awhile, i just didnt know if the market was good for it..

To make that machine in china is a wash,,i would guess $50 labor to produce it here in my factory vs $100 shipping from chinese company..bonus for making it here is not alot of inventory, plus if there is a problem with a run I wouldn't have 100 to get rid of before it gets fixed and new container arrives with updated machines..I personally have 100 or more cranes on my routes that had flaws i had to fix because of wires crossed between my requests and chinese thoughts...

But most of these companies that dream up a idea of a machine are just salesmen, they dont have the equipment or know how to build their own machines, they just get a idea and its alot easier to get on alibaba and find and factory in china willing to make your item than it is to find a manufacturer here to make your product..Its not always about the price versus convenience..

Coast to coast

monkey machine I took a look up close

the monkey is way to big, needs to be reduced in size

their is two 3 inch green strips of fake grass/jungle on the front display glass

I would replace the monkey with a smaller one and razor blade off the fake grass to show the main viewing window better
