orsd
maybe a bit better than vendstars- have plastic on em, break really easy. Wanted to buy similar machine once, but the members here said that it was a bad idea.
Rick
A guy has 10 of these new in box. Are they any good what are they worth. These are how I cut my teeth. Bought 14 SSF heads NIB + 6 wooden double stands and 3 single wooden stands for $110 at a garage sale. I placed them and actually still have a few single GB of the Silent Sales Force located. They're "okay" but I wouldn't be willing to pay more than 7-10 dollars a head for them. Truth be told, I stained all of the wooden stands with a deep redwood finish and sold a couple of the doubles on CL for $100 each to private parties, turned around and made a good deal on some 1-800's with that money. The two biggest drawbacks of the SSF is that they have a very finicky vend. They frequently misvend or sometimes they vend both the GB and the quarter that was just deposited. Second, for being such a simple machine they are surprisingly a pain in the rear to service. You need to remove the top barrel lock and then caaaaaaarefully pick the entire head up at the base (because the lid, globe, base are about 4 separate parts that will send GB's flying if you're not careful). After lifting the head, you need to reach your hand up underneath the body and brush all of the quarters off the lip of the chute as they routinely pile up there. Summary: If money is your biggest challenge and your choice is either 1) Forego bulk vending several more months or 2) SSF - then I'd say these are good machines to dip a toe in. Just don't expect much out of them and flip them for 1-800's, NW or Oak as soon as humanly possible. Honestly, I think there's more advantages to the Vendstar (and that's saying something). Big Mike
Pass. I haven't even heard them mentioned in years. They are more of less a knock off of a beaver. Some are bad and some are really bad. The worst part is they will not take a regular lock like a NW, Oak, or A&A machine. I wouldn't take them brand new for free. Mike
GagesVending
Even brand new, they are truly junk!! I assembled a bunch brand new out of the box to build a fleet of 4 head racks and they were the biggest headache. They'd break, certain mechs for whatever reason wouldn't align with certain hoppers...just one problem after another. The mechs are horrible quality and turn very rough and don't always vend. I'd pass.
