Any help ID'ing these machines and if you think this is a good deal would be greatly appreciated.

This one, the guy says he wants $700 for. It's on location a grossing $300/month.

He's asking $400 - it's located and grossing $200/month

Same as above - asking $400 and grossing $200/month.

My two cents:

I really don't care for these satellite machines type machines small will not hold much product.

The other two will work in small to medium locations along with a cold drink machine. I would buy the bottom two.

These are all real good deals. Even if you had to relocate the machines for some reason you would still have paid a good price just for the machines. The first pic looks like a USI BC6 can/bottle that is slaved to a GF12 snack. This is a very small snack but the soda, if it's a BC6, is versatile for cans or bottles. The way to tell if it's a BC6 is to know if the cans stack up inside the machine (BC6) or if they roll down a rack (CD6 cans only). The second pic is of a USI 3014 snack and the 3rd pic is of a USI GF19 snack. If all remain on location doing close to what the sales are claimed to be you would do fine with these. I'm curious though, why you would not be getting the 7UP machine or Pepsi machine next to the 2 snacks? Does someone else operate those? If so, you need to be careful that you aren't going to be replaced by that person down the road.

Yeah, he said he services these once a week even despite the fact that he's not killing it with sales. I just heard back from the guy and he told me those two snack machines are both located in the same city building so that would be very convenient. Anybody have an idea of what TYPE of machines I'm looking at. I asked and the guy selling them wasn't sure about the snack machines.

Wow, good eye. I didn't even see the pop machines next to them. I can only assume it's another vendor doing pop right alongside of him. I'll ask him, but I'm really glad you mentioned it - that gives me pause.

Rick,

All of those machines are made by Wittern out of Des Moines - they're considered okay machines though not my preference. The top one is a "slave combo" where the snack side could be operated by itself but the soda section has to used with the snack machine as it has no BA or coin mech (or control board). The second is a 3013 and the last one is a newer version of that.

As Mike said, the combo machines don't hold enough to be very profitable. For me, the current gross on all the machines is too low to mess with but that might be different for you as a dollar around here doesn't stretch as far as it would in most parts of the country. Why don't the bottom two have soda machines?

That said, I don't have any problem with his asking price - basically you'd be buying the machines and they just happen to be placed. Sometimes I can takeover a snack machine and really juice up the sales with better products, but with these 3 wides you won't have much latitude to do that.

Good starter machines to learn the business with and they are even paying for their own storage

If the two snack machines are grossing $400 combined, is it foolish of me to assume $200/month net?

As for those pop machines, the guy said that the city employees vend their own soda - there are no other third party vendors in this building. Perhaps room for me to take it over and make life easier for the people responsible for filling them!?

Depends on the pricing, if they are doing the soda then IMO there might be a opportunity at some point to take it over, they probably are running lease machines from the local bottler.

Like Mission said, if you continue to operate just the snacks and do a good job of it, if the employees get tired of filling, or the city decides it doesn't want to pay their employees to fill vending machines, then you are there to pick up and take it over. This is a good starter to someone not in the business yet, but keep in mind that with only 3 snack machines you will have quite a few stales due to not being able to spread your product purchases over a wider machine base. If you like the business and continue to grow it, your base of machines will grow and help you avoid expired products.

It's still easier to start in the business with only can soda machines, but this is a good way to test your interest in the business just the same.
