dogcow Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 i pretty much specalize in laundromats, 90% of my locs are coin laundries. one of my accts approached me about adding a 2nd small snack unit to vend laundry products or swapping out my pastry rows in my existing machine for laundry products. i am concerned about the liability of putting soap and chemicals (even tho its boxed/package) in a machine with food. does anyone have any experience doing this out of its own machine? im not really sure if it justifies the cost. any advice on the type of coils needed for this?
Poplady1 Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Many of the vendors I work with do it. You can get the supplies packaged for vending machines. The liability would go back to the company unless you alter the package. Probably not much risk on your part.
AZVendor Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 You can fit the soap boxes into your 12 ct., maybe 15 ct. spirals. Lots of people do this in hotels, too. There is an odor from the soaps, but if your snacks are properly sealed, the odor won't enter the packaging. I am surprised that the laundromat doesn't have a soap vendor hanging on the wall already. Those units usually have a couple of soap selections, a couple of softener selections and a powdered bleach selection, so that's all you would need to provide. Ask your other laundromat accounts where they get their products from, or buy it from one of them. Sell it at a premium to make it worth your trouble.

If you can find the room separate machines would be better. Walta It is in your head - your nose and brain to be exact. If it smells like soap, your brains going to tell you it tastes like soap. If you did a blind taste test with two honey buns, one of which came out of a machine with soap while the other one didn't, they'd both taste the same
dogcow Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 yeah he has a very small laundry soap machine on the wall, only a 4 select and he wants to offer more variety of stuff and flexible prices
