massalonvending Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I just turned sixteen, and only have my drivers permit (got it late). I currently service about ten machines total, and this is bringing a very small amount of profit in. We have a shopping center within golf cart distance, and our neighborhood has a shopping area, that I currently service the largest business, a pub. I am trying to think of ways to be able to expand my bulk business to running at least 50 heads, and being able to service each head. So, how do I expand, and how do I get more clients? What did you do to get successful? Oh yes, if it helps my current clients are as follows: Three liquor stores (owned by family) Three pubs A gym A hair salon A tanning salon
mjacks Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I assume you run just candy machines in these locations. None of the locales are particularly kid friendly so expanding into toys isn't a good choice to increase the amount of money made per location. The pubs might be a good location for bartop video games if it is the right kind of pub where people sit at the bar for hours. Expensive but you might be able to find something used. I would recommend this approach with serious reservations though. Too much chance it would end up a dud. Sounds like you need to get your DL and expand your range.
massalonvending Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 Okay, I am making a list of places to inquire at. AKA, every locally-owned place within a 2-mile radius.
VendingExperts Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 We have a shopping center within golf cart distance, and our neighborhood has a shopping area, that I currently service the largest business, a pub. So can you legally drive a golf cart where your at? If you can, I'd just try to get more accounts in that concentrated area. I met a guy last year in a big town that services his route using the bus. I wouldn't say that a car or license is an absolute requirement of vending, but it definitely makes life easier!

Well, technically, you have to have a DL, but an officer who we are friends with has told us they really don't prioritize going after 16 year olds driving alone, and driving legally at that. They go after the groups of hooligan teenagers speeding down the roads, which I can't speed, I'd drop the machine Oh yes, I went down to the store to get some stamps, and decided to ask a few people on the way back. Got a new toy store for a single head, and maybe a coffee shop for a single head w/ mint chiclets
adog Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Ha well if they ever try to pull you over you could always out run them in your golf cart
will.vend Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 do any of your friends have a drivers license? if so ask them to drive you around one day, offer to pay for gas and buy them lunch or whatever it takes to get them to help you. then when it's time to service those accts offer your friend a small percentage to get them interested in helping you.

Can you really speed on a golf cart? I didn't think they went over 20-25mph. Got a new toy store for a single head, and maybe a coffee shop for a single head w/ mint chicletsGreat job! Keep it up!
massalonvending Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 Speed!!! Can you really speed on a golf cart? I didn't think they went over 20-25mph. Great job! Keep it up! Most golf carts can only go 20-25, but we have some that go as high as 40. Plus, the speed limit is ~ 20mph here
adog Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Wow if the speed limit was 20 out here in California I'd kill myself lol. I thought. 40 was slow on residential and 65 on freeways. Pretty much the law out here is add 15 to the speed limit sign lol!!!!
