Security Question..

I know for 2 stands you can chain them together, still doesn't make it impossible to steal but a deterrent.

What is the best way to secure a double head stand or a rack so that they don't walk?

Most places in restaurants the only room between the register and the door is actually between the two entry doors in the foyer. Even in a good area, it seems like being past the register and only one door to the outside, that your machine could very easily walk.

Put them in a place that does not need to be chained down.

Those are the places that make the most money unfortunately. ;-)

Chains should work pretty well.  They make a lot a noise when you try to move them around.  Screwing a ring into a stud in the wall to secure to will work if the location will allow it.

If you have permission, install an eye bolt into the wall (hitting the stud) and run either a chain or a thick security cable through it.  Padlock both ends so you can't simply pull the base of the stand through the void (think of it like handcuffs).  In good locations, I might put a second stand next to it to chain it to, if I can't put a hole in the wall for an eye bolt.

If the location requests a key for the padlocks, I accommodate that if they have a reasonable concern for possibly needing to temporarily move the machine (cleaning, accessing an outlet, etc).

if your planning on keeping the location epoxy it to the floor.

I used to joke about slamming one at Walmart, then gluing it to the floor, but I was never serious! ;D   Have you actually done that?

ya i was joking.

I dont think it would work anyway because theres alot of leverage at the top of a pipe stand.
