beejaykc aka Munch A Bunch Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I'd like to buy, find, create an iPad app to contain several things regarding my locations/machines, etc. Things I already do....at home....on my laptop.....on a spreadsheet. Here are my ideas for the app: Location information Machine info Machine photos Pick list functionality This could be databased in some way.....if I was smart enough to bring it to the iPad. But I'd like to do it in an app form. I am small enough and am not pre-kitting. I have a warehouse on wheels, and would like the pick list piece as a must. Having the ability to photo each machine would be awesome too for a number of reasons. Thoughts? Am I wasting my time? Do you know of an app? I'm looking to no avail.
Happy Vending Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I would be willing to pay 10+ $ for an app that would do all of that, plus a couple of simple things like a quick way to enter in the vend count of different items (maybe you could add pricing too). I have also searched for something like this on "Google Play" but haven't found anything. I think if there's enough people who show interest then I could probably find someone who is willing to write the application (IT is my day job). With such a limited customer base (really only vending operators) it would have to be something that most operators would be willing to pay for or the coders probably wouldn't waste their time.

As I'm awaiting replies to this message - I've discovered an app designed for shopping lists that will solve the need for a couple of these items including the pick list. I can even categorize the items, take pictures of the items, create unit of measurements, etc. This is a free app - and there's lots of them. So that solves some of the need. What it doesn't solve is the bigger, fun stuff like machine info, location info, tray and selection info, pricing, etc.... So for now....I'll try the shopping list app for my pick list needs. Will report back. Busy inputting my items and categorizing them now.

I would love to ditch the notebook that I carry around with me for half of this stuff, but I don't want to spend 15 minutes at each site playing with my phone/tablet either. I just feel like there should be a better way to handle all of this stuff with todays mobile technology.
