gplough Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Does anyone know what the difference is between these two motors (besides that they have differenct colored disks) Thanks!
AZVendor Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 If you move the outside adjustable cam it will expose all of the notches in the motor main cam. The number of notches equals the number of 12 oz. cans deep that the cam can accomodate. You are limited in depth, however, to the number of notches in the main cam. For example, the black cams are for 2 deep vending and the main cam only has 2 notches in it. If you were to use that motor on a column that is capable of 3 cans deep, you will be restricted to only 2 cans deep because of only having 2 notches in the main motor cam. Conversely, you can use a 3 notch main cam on a 2 deep cabinet by adjusting the outer cam to only expose 2 notches on the main cam. I believe the blue and green cams are the same, but I'm not certain. The cams are removable from the motor by removing the adjustable cam and then pulling the main cam off the motor, so when I need to replace a bad motor, I just use a bare motor and transfer the cams from the bad motor to the good motor. If you have a bad motor, just swap the cams if you're not certain about them.
CajunCandy Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 I just changed a motor off a vendo 480, it is a three deep machine, blue cam, three notch. I replaced motor off another Vendo it had the green cam, four notch. I just place blue cam on the motor i replaced the bad motor with. I have ten green cams if anybody needs green cams. mike
gplough Posted June 13, 2013 Author Posted June 13, 2013 So you guys just tap that set pin out with a hammer and swap it?
AZVendor Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 No, the front adjustable cam is turned to the point that it will slide off from under the pin, then the rear main cam will also pull off. Don't bend the motor switches while doing this. Why do you need to change the cams? Does the replacement motor have enough notches to match the product depth in the column?
gplough Posted June 13, 2013 Author Posted June 13, 2013 I see that now, thanks for not letting me jack it up. I probably dont need to change the cams, I just need to sit down and take a close look at everything. Thanks again for your answer!
