GagesVending Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 What approach do you guys take to build a brand new route? What's the best way to locate: simply go door to door in a general area or phone locate, then follow up on leads, or both? I'd appreciate any advice!
Makes Cents Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Its easier to say no to a voice on the phone than to a person standing in front of you. Plus you have the machine available for immediate placement which takes away the element of the person changing their mind or your contact not being there when you go to place machine.
VendingExperts Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 I have always placed machines in person with machine in hand. If they say yes it stays, if they say no I take it with me to the next prospective location. I even sold "Jane Doe" a machine once while doing this. She came up to me and said "that's soo cool, I want one for my home theater." I took her number and I found a decent machine to sell her at a slight profit, we were both happy!
Nick505 Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Door to door sales is much easier and you would have better luck. try to place machines along the way in order to pay for your gas to the next city.
dkochan Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 I prefer to locate in person on location because it's easier to close sales in person. Secondly, I like to personally check out a location to see if there machines on site and where would be a good place to put a machine. Sent from my HTCEVODesign4G using Tapatalk 2
GagesVending Posted June 14, 2013 Author Posted June 14, 2013 Thanks for all of the suggestions guys! I'm going next week to self locate. I've been printing some nice brochures, which I've never tried before; but they look great, so I definitely think it will help! A side note: I just got notice from a great candy location (a bar) that wants a machine placed in their other bar location! They're charity spots, so it's a win-win!
hazenevenson Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I got smart I bought a case of retail skittles, (extremely expensive) but it helped me secure a location by offering a product sample
