onecent@atime Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 if you go by a location to service the machine and your asked to take the machine with you do you count the money and pay a commission or do you just take the machine and leave? (We are mainly talking racks)
Nick505 Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Some operators may find it unethical but I would load my rack on a dolly and leave. Another vendor posted that on the bottom of his contract in fine print he has a clause that says no commission to be paid upon eviction. I think service vending will drag out the eviction by an extra month or so in order to collect a few more bucks before they pick up their equipment.
havending Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I use the van is full if a can excuse and leave it. And pay on that cycle. But won't pay on the pick up. If its a bad boot I take it right away. I have had to break racks down on the side walk and stick them where ever I could just to fit it in the van. I have had a few rough kick outs
dkochan Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I don't pay commission when I get kicked out of a location. If I lose a location due to a location a going out of business and, they are nice enough to call me before closing their doors, I will ask them if they want commission when I go pick up my equipment. antoniocinisi Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I was kicked out of a location I shared with Namco.we all got kicked out and they payed a commission.in this case I did as well as the location got their own stuff and may have called us back if it didnt work out.it`s on a case by case decision for me.once I had to call the cops on this foocker because he never had the time to open the doors for me,living 8 blocks from the location,in the same town.he didnt get a commission
massalonvending Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 As antoniocinisi said, with the two kickouts I have ever had, it is on a case by case basis with me. One was understandable, a small gift shop closing because the owners were retiring. The other one was a sandwich shop (expensive at that). I ordered my sandwich (A freaking $8 sandwich, no drink), and the owner had the decency to tell me to take my machine out, while waiting for my food, as "he doesn't like Runts". A year later, I still haven't went there, the pub across the road is making me much more, even with the higher commission (30% gross, 50% profit, respectively).

This is why I rarely eat at my accounts if I can have a cheaper lunch. They usually do not care if you try to support them by shopping there. If they want to boot you for a stupid reason they will usually do it. After a while, it all becomes part of the game and you just laugh it off and go to the next account or put the machine back out before you go home. I have almost never paid commission on a kickout, with only rare exceptions. Their half of the deal is letting you rent the floor space. If they don't let you, then you magically do not have the keys. The best is when they want commission on a location that does $3 a month and they think you are grabbing them for $1000s.
Smiley Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Unless I think there's a chance I can get back into the location, I don't pay commission. They usually don't ask.
