crane counters/spreadsheets

Hey guys,

 

 I know we discussed in depth in chat and i mentioned this would have been a good thread ..

 

I have been using just free spreadsheet ap for my iphone for last few years to keep my counter numbers in and do calculations for commission etc on locations but here was my problem..

 

I still had to keep a postcard in each crane to write numbers for the reason if a different collector besides me came before i came back they wouldnt have my readings..I tried sinc with pc everyday with everybody collecting but problem was if i did one route that day and Roger did a different route my numbers would update his and then his would update over mine and put old numbers back on my iphone.. wasn't supposed to but it did several times and that was fiasco..

 

especially when he is just employee and then would pay too much commission to stops based on old counter readings.

 

well i found the answer,,been using for 3 weeks now and its sweet, should have gotten it sooner...

 

Numbers for Iphone with ICloud... it updates immediately and changes spreadsheets on all phones with ap on the same cloud.. you could used ipod touch also if you dont want to provide iphone for route drivers.. You can manipulate spreadsheet even without data connection on device (unlike google docs on cloud that only will manipulate with data connection) so if the route people are in boondocks places like my route is with poor cell phone receptions.. As soon as they do reach a location with free wifi they can connect and everything will update..

 

any opinions or options you guys are using?

I will check that out. I have us all I phone 5 so no real added expenses
