National 158

Hi Everyone,

I picked up my first National snack machine yesterday. It's a National 158. I paid $400 for it. It' needs a good cleaning but we plugged it in and it turned on and all the motors work. I'm going to get new fronts, paint and clean it and it should be as good as new.

I have been running all AP's so I am more familiar with them so, I have a couple questions.

What is the lightbulb size for this machine and also what type of starter does is use?

Also the guy said you can use a 24v or a 110 bill changer and coin mech in this machine. Does this sound right? If so can you use a 110 coin mech and a 24v bill changer at the same time?

Thanks for your help,

Justin

The 158 uses an F20T12/24" lamp and you should also plan on replacing the FS25 starter along with the lamp.  The validator and coin mech can be either 24V or 110V and you can mix them as they plug in separately, unless your machine is MDB, in which case both will be 24/34V.  Note, however, that the existing validator harness will dictate which voltage validator you can use.
