fredfarmer775 Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013
So I understand that you don't actually have to own the Coke and Pepsi machines to vend with them and all you have to do is buy the Coke/Pepsi products from Coke and Pepsi and they will service the machines if they ever break down.. I'm therefore wondering if someone brand new (without any machines) can do their own locating, find locations for Coke and/or Pepsi machines and create their own route that way without having to actually pay the money to invest in the equipment? Perhaps if you HAD to already be doing business at a location (because Coke and Pepsi requires it) you could set up with honor boxes and then switch to Coke/Pepsi machines.

Can anyone tell me anything about this? Your help will be much appreciated.

NinnJinn Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 It all depends on what area you are in. When I started Coke would give me anything I wanted moreless. Pepsi wanted me to buy 2-3,000 dollars in product before they would even talk to me about using their machines. With Coke, I had to purchase 150+ cases of product per machine per year. In different areas are different costs. When I told Coke to pick up their machines they were pushing up their price to almost 90cents a bottle. And the area I was in, customers were not ready nor were they willing to pay more than $1.25/bottle. Please note that my info is based on 2011. Not today's society. I have heard due to theft etc, bottlers are becoming more picky, and less likely to give machines to new vendors. If you grow your business like Mission has, they will offer you the world per say.
tc vending Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I think it depends on the who has the coke territory. I am in a coca cola united area their easy to deal with but a coca cola enterprise territory is nearby and other vendors I have talked to hate them.
Vending How Chris Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 In California at least you need to have at least 20 machines on your route already to get leased machines from Coke. Not sure about the others. Also, figure you'll need to install them or pay to have them installed. Not to mention that not every tech employed by a large company is an expert at fixing machines, so to provide really good customer you should still learn how to fix them yourself.
Vendors Tech Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Never did 3rd party vending, always wanted to own all my equipment. Watchout if you get into it though. The vendors around here that have to do it have to wait up to 6 months sometimes to get machines, unless they buy tons of product and can strong arm the local bottlers to get them the machines sooner. There is a minimum case order that you have to place each week or every other week in order to get the free machines. Other requirments vary depending on where you are.
