JRS Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Our Church is currently leasing an Avalon Quad Four. We have been leasing it for about four years now. I don't know much about these machines. I am trying to cut back on some of the bills at the church and would rather purchase a use comparable machine or an used Avalon. I would greatly appreciate any help.
AZVendor Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Is this a single cup coffee brewer you are speaking about?

Commercial coffee brewers like this are quite expensive. An alternative would be to subscribe to an OCS service where the vendor provides the brewer, often the standard Bunn style, and sells you the supplies which they deliver. There is an extensive thread on this forum started by Greatdane that discusses coffee makers in detail. http://vendiscuss.net/index.php?/topic/11862-saeco-sg-200-operators/

The members of the church are used to the french vanilla and hot chocolate as well as coffee that's why I was considering purchasing an used one. We currently pay a little over a thousand a year to lease so I would be willing to spend that to buy one.

I just have a couple of questions for you to determine what size/type machine you will need... 1. How many Church members do you have & approximately how many members would you say are using the machine? 2. Is french vanilla & hot chocolate the only drinks you want to dispense from the machine or are you also wanting to make coffee based drinks also 3. If you buy your own machine are you or one of your members going to be able to service/fix the machine yourselves?

If you buy your own machine are you or one of your members going to be able to service/fix the machine yourselves? It's a small church and we have between 75-110 total people on a Sunday morning. I do like giving them the option for coffee as well, which they currently have. One of the members does change the filter roll, clean the maching when it gunks up. I do have to call the company we lease it from once or twice a year to do some kind of service. My thought was I could pay a company when needed to service the machine. i do know th machine I am leasing has a lot of parts and I am sure there is a comparable model that is easier to work on. Any feedback is greatly appreciated
